The Lilac Continent is dominated by vast, rugged mountain ranges, stretching across its expanse like the backbone of the land. These towering peaks and ridges, coupled with the presence of silicate and basaltic sands near their bases, reveal a past shaped by intense volcanic activity. Over millennia, eruptions sculpted the landscape, depositing minerals that would later define the unique flora and fauna of Amaranth. |
One of the most striking adaptations of this alien world is its towering tropical trees, their thick trunks reaching high into the sky in a quest for sunlight, which is often sparse at the forest floor. These trees possess an extraordinary feature—a phenomenon akin to "sweating." From their bark and sprawling vines, thin and sinuous with a distinct purplish hue, an unusual syrup seeps slowly, dripping like a leaky tap. This substance, a bluish-orange nectar, is rich in sugars and plays a pivotal role in the symbiotic balance of the ecosystem. |
The "sweating trees" share a deep, almost inseparable connection with Amaranth’s fungal life, a relationship that extends beyond simple mutualism—it is central to the very essence of the Fujin societies. The Athezians, an allied species working alongside humanity, have long understood the potential hazards posed by their artificial environment suits, which emit low levels of radiation. Out of caution and respect, they communicate with humans only from a distance. |
One evening, during routine fieldwork, a group of human workers observed an Athezian figure standing silently beneath the sweating trees. With deliberate precision, the alien extended its clawed hands, collecting the dripping nectar before carefully feeding it to an overgrown mass of fungal flora at the tree’s base. That night, as the sky deepened into Amaranth’s violet dusk, one of the human observers noted a remarkable transformation—the once dim, lifeless fungi suddenly blossomed into a spectacle of bioluminescent radiance, pulsing with vibrant, joyful hues. It was as if the fungus itself had been reawakened, its essence rekindled by the tree’s gift, revealing a silent but profound communication between species. |
The sweating trees and the fungal networks below them are not just separate organisms, they are tightly interwoven, sustaining each other in a delicate and ancient symbiosis. |
The fungal life of Amaranth, in its quiet symbiosis with the sweating trees, holds yet another secret—one that would inevitably catch the attention of humanity. As the fungi absorb the nectar’s sugars, they naturally ferment them, producing alcohol and carbon dioxide as byproducts. It didn’t take long for humans to recognize the potential. After all, if something contains sugar, given enough time, someone will find a way to turn it into alcohol. |
However, there was a lingering concern. Many feared that the Athezians might disapprove of humans exploiting the fungal network. Instead of risking harm to the native life, colonists sought to replicate the fermentation process artificially, constructing machines that mimicked the fungus’s natural metabolism. The syrup, easily collected in flasks and liquid vessels, was carefully processed, giving rise to a strange and unique alcoholic beverage. It had a rich, honey-like aroma, though the reason behind this peculiar characteristic remained a mystery waiting to be unraveled. |
During moments of respite from colonial construction and research, engineers, architects, and exhausted scientists gathered together, drawn by both curiosity and the promise of something entirely new. After countless experiments and failures, they finally succeeded—fermenting alcohol from Amaranth’s alien fungi. The mere concept of it felt strange enough, but the result was unlike anything found on Emerald. |
Amaranth itself was no paradise, but its beauty lay in its subtle, untamed wilderness. The lilac continent has dry mud basins, where violet bushes poked through sandy terrain, contrasting against the lush tropical groves beyond. Though its shores weren’t the finest, they were enough for settlers looking for a quiet escape. The most popular gathering spots were the mud-shored clearings, where thick, pillow-soft bushes formed natural lounges, perfect for unwinding. |
[[File:Lilac continent shot 3.png|thumb|491x491px]] |
At night, as colonists reclined on the dense flora, sipping the sweet, honeyed drink, Amaranth’s twin moons took the stage. They danced together in the dark expanse, their barycentric waltz painting silver trails across the sky. A third celestial companion—a tiny asteroid locked in a tight orbit—flitted close, completing the spectacle. Below, the bioluminescent fungi, now thriving on the nectar of the sweating trees, pulsed with gentle, iridescent hues, casting a dreamlike glow across the land. |
In that moment, under the endless sky of Amaranth, time itself seemed to pause. No one wanted to sleep—not when the night was this alive, not when the world around them shimmered with the quiet magic of life, light, and discovery. |

=Orbital Station= |
The Colonisation Effort of the Legatus System, particularly centered on the planet Amaranth, had been underway for three months. Progress was steady. Mining operations on the planet’s moons flourished, and the colony's infrastructure was beginning to take form. Above the surface, The Palace, acting as space station still stationed in-system, served as a safe haven in geostationary orbit over the primary city’s construction site. |
With the colony declared a success, the Scientific Assembly’s Logistics Branch fulfilled its promise: within three months, it would deliver the materials necessary for the construction of a modular orbital outpost. This outpost was to be stationed just above Amaranth’s breathtaking rings, nestled in equatorial orbit, providing direct access to the glistening belt of ice and stone below. |
These modular outposts were hailed as one of the greatest achievements in colonial support engineering, designed through the combined efforts of Emerald and the nearby colonies of the Nova (stellar) Neighborhood. To realize this vision, the Assembly sanctioned three Architector-Class Megaships, colossal vessels equipped with extendable construction arms and on-board industrial Printers. Inspired by Archangelic design, their naming convention mirrored that divine influence, they were humanity’s own Architectural Ships. |
The USC-Gravity Free, USC-Betelgeuse, and USC-Gentle Nightfall arrived into the Fujin Galaxy via the Bridge, following the standard protocol of initiating communications every three months. But their journey was only halfway done. From the Bridge terminus, the megaships, along with smaller hauler fleets, had another three days of travel before reaching the Legatus Star. |
Back on Amaranth, the colony had already cleared vast stretches of land to serve as landing zones for the haulers. Meanwhile, The Palace, still gleaming in the planet’s sky, was prepared to act as a navigational beacon for the incoming Architector-class ships. |

[[File:Aldooer Crater Tourist Site.png|thumb|510x510px|Hays'Aldooer, or simply Aldooer, Tourist Site on Second Continent of Amaranth]] |
The Aldooer Tourist Site is one of the most stunning natural wonders on the planet Amaranth, nestled within the arid expanses of the Second Continent's deserts. Discovered during the early colonization era, shortly after The Palace megaship anchored in Amaranth’s orbit, Aldooer has since become a place of both mystery and admiration. |
What sets Aldooer apart is its breathtaking contrast: a serene water basin nestled within a colossal impact crater, surrounded by a field of smaller craters that embellish the landscape like brushstrokes on a vast painting. These minor craters serve more than just aesthetic purpose; they enrich the water with a wide range of natural minerals, creating pools of medicinal mineral water. |
Recognizing the site's therapeutic potential, the medical institutions of the Royal Colony were quick to propose the incorporation of Aldooer’s mineral waters into formal treatments. As a result, strict preservation laws were enacted. Swimming in the Aldooer basin is prohibited by Royal decree, a move designed to maintain the purity of the waters. However, this decision has met with some criticism, particularly given the presence of large-scale extraction machinery, which many argue poses a greater ecological threat than swimmers ever could. |
In contrast, the United Sol Command adopted a more liberal stance, acknowledging the health benefits of direct exposure to the waters. Under their authority, designated crater pools were opened for therapeutic bathing, attracting pilgrims, tourists, and health seekers alike. |
Though its remote location far from the Royal Capital may deter some, Aldooer remains a beloved escape for residents, workers, and explorers in need of rest and rejuvenation. Its beauty and tranquility have inspired waves of tourism, but also controversy. |
A growing number of investors and entrepreneurs from the Milky Way Galaxy have expressed interest in developing commercial ventures within the Aldooer crater. However, the response from local Amaranthian residents has been firm and visceral. Viewing such moves as yet another extension of Emerald-world greed, they have issued public warnings, vowing to defend their sacred basin from corporate exploitation. |
