The Grinfulo Galaxy is a small elliptical galaxy home to 107.7 Quadrillion individuals, mostly Vlanoans, under the control of the Kal Federation. This Federation is, in turn, a semi-autonomous region under the control of The Administrator. The galaxy is mostly empty, with only 45% of its star systems having permanent residents in them.
The closest galaxy to it is the Tloinin Galaxy. It is 725 Mega-light-years from the Via Sagittaria Galaxy. A galaxy of its size typically has one to two native sapient species within it, however, this galaxy is abnormally sterile. This is likely because of a surge in Novae the galaxy experienced from 1 billion to 500 million CE where the number of supernovae increased from once per millennia to once per two hundred years.
History
The galaxy is named for the Vlanoan God of clouds "Grinfulo," because when it was first discovered, the fledgling Vlanoan civilization believed it to be some cloud of stars rather than a galaxy like the Re'Tlel galaxy. Even though they determined that it was in fact a galaxy and not a random cloud of stars, the name remained.
In 4079 CE, several billion Vlanoans, from the Tloinin Galaxy migrated to this galaxy seeking independence and self-rule. They first settled the planet Aira. The galaxy had no civilizations or threats, which allowed them to take their time in expansion. They had no enemies and no pressure to expand, so they expanded at their own pace. It took them until 6122 to fully explore the galaxy, and to this day they have not settled the whole thing.
Grinfulo has rarely been involved in intergalactic wars. The most damaging war was the Tloinin War. Even later wars such as The War of the Ancients saw little damage in the galaxy itself, most of which was diverted to its much more important neighbor, Tloinin.
Modern Astrography
The only cluster in the galaxy, the one orbiting the central black hole, "Onnan," is one of the most densely populated regions in the galaxy. The close together stars, the large black hole, and dense concentration of cosmic dust in the area offered an attractive place to settle. This cluster acts as a seat of power for the Federation. In the event of Invasion, each plant has the capacity to evacuate their citizens to this center area, allowing for easier defense of the population.
The galaxy has no nebulae and lacks all other structures besides this central cluster. Plans to create a ring around the galaxy are currently underway, with a lightyear of it already constructed. This ring will be the first in a series of concentric rings all orbiting the central black hole. These rings will allow for easier defense, create trillions of times more available space for Vlanoans to live in, act as a monument of their technological prowess, and act as a final bunker in case The Administrator loses control of its central computing network. This project would be incredibly difficult in a large elliptical galaxy, but the small size of Grinfulo allows for this construction project to be possible. It is estimated to be entirely finished in the 233rd millennium if all goes smoothly.
Ruins
Twelve planets have ruins ranging from three billion to 200 million years old. They ranged from early civilizations of metal all the way to several stellar ruins. The Administrator was uncharacteristically interested in these civilizations when they were first discovered. Several of them, however, it destroyed for unknown reasons. When the Kal Federation issued a complaint, The Administrator simply stated:
"The fact is that these civilizations had the power to harness The Unknowns. The Impossibles. The Anomalous. The Transcendentals. Of course they fell, one does not interact with such power and expect mercy. Luckily for you, I destroyed everything that was a threat. Be grateful."
It refused to elaborate even as it induced supernovae around stars hosting these civilizations. Speculation ranges from some form of supernatural technology to a manic episode of The Administrator causing it to spout gibberish. Either way, this worried the Vlanoans and they stopped exploring the remaining ruins out of fear for their safety. It would either be The Administrator that destroyed them or whatever power was allegedly in these galaxies. Several daring Vlanoans asked Delyatu what The Administrator meant by what it said. Delyatu stated this:
"Oh don't worry about him he has a bad habit of paying attention to stuff he would be better off leaving alone. I promise I won't let him hurt you"
Delyatu also refused to elaborate after this. It only insisted that everything was "alright" and that nothing bad would happen to the Vlanoans. This information, however, never got passed on to the general population after The Administrator scrubbed communication networks clean of any mention of this conversation of the civilizations.
