Taygeta was first charted by the [[Midnight Observatory|Midnight Observatory]], located on the planet [[Wolf Totem (Tengri)|Wolf Totem]]. While the initial survey detected no signs of remarkable sights, the planet was later selected as the SnowStorm Union's third colony world, following the settlement of Diavolo.
It was discovered in 2241 by the Midnight Observatory on the 2nd planet of the 111 Tauri system. An unmanned probe was launched to study the planet and arrived in 2553. While no life was detected, it was chosen to be Humanity's first colony world in the Pleiades. Construction of cities and surface transportation networks began in 2651 and was finished in 2362 which is when Human colonists arrived and began to live in its cities.

The planet is the home of two large domed cities, named the Twin Domes, both of which, are connected via long distance transportation networks consisting of fast train-like vehicles. A few smaller cities were constructed on other parts of the planet, Liberty being one the most famous ones, increasing its population from 20 million to 60 million. All of the cities have a controlled temperature of 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.
The planet is currently home to two small, strategically positioned colonies collectively referred to as the Twins. These are connected by a long-range surface roa,—carefully leveled and maintained for EVA-capable SUVs. The first and more prominent of the two, Liberty, has grown in reputation and population, increasing from just 300 to over 1,000 inhabitants. Both settlements operate within sealed habitats, with climate-controlled environments maintained between 17°C and 20°C.

Taygeta lacks a breathable atmosphere, requiring constant EVA suits for any activity outside the colonies. Though not a major tourist destination, it attracts colonists and laborers seeking a relatively "warmer" climate than the frigid outposts of Wolf Totem.
The planet was originally going to be terraformed however funding was lost and terraforming was cancelled. Denizens of Taygeta 3 are actually ok with this as they think the planet is already beautiful as it is.

A flag was created for the planet when it's colonisation was finally finished, the meanings are:
* Black: It's loneliness within the Pleiades Cluster
* Blue: It's recognizable blue surface
* White: Peace
* Circle with spikes: Touristic attraction
* Central circle: The parent star Taygeta
As of now, the planet doesn't gain much tourism and has become a backwater colony as it is still not terraformed and at this rate likely never will be anytime soon. Because of this, the planet never gets involved in any wars, acting as a sort of secret "safe-haven".

The planet has a gravity of 1.717 g's, and an axial-tilt of 48 degrees. It has a 12-hour long rotation and takes 21 years (7665 days) to orbit Taygeta. The planet has relatively calm weather aside from a few hurricanes, tornadoes and dust storms. The average temperature on this planet is 80 degrees celsius. It has a diameter of 13.113 kilometers.
Taygeta possesses a surface gravity of 1.717 g and an extreme axial tilt of 48 degrees, which contributes to its sharp seasonal variations. The planet completes one rotation every 12 hours and takes approximately 21 Earth years (or 7,665 local days) to complete a single orbit around its host star.

Despite its volatile axial tilt, Taygeta’s weather remains relatively stable, with only occasional hurricanes, tornadoes, and dust storms disrupting the surface. Its average global temperature is a sweltering 65°C, further necessitating protective gear for any extended exposure.
Much of surface is largely given to deserts, mountains and small oceans.

The planet's terrain is dominated by arid deserts, craggy mountain ranges, and dry basins. No oceans exist, though limited water is imported from a nearby ice giant, a gas planet with glacial rings that serves as a water harvesting location.

Flag of Taygeta colony

Taygeta is the third planet out of eight in orbit around the B-class blue subgiant star EDO 99847574-937483, located in Sector 1 of the Edelweiss Galaxy. Classified as a warm terra, it is orbited by seventeen moons and is noted for its shimmering surface hue, earning it the moniker Blue Gem.

Overview

Taygeta was first charted by the Midnight Observatory, located on the planet Wolf Totem. While the initial survey detected no signs of remarkable sights, the planet was later selected as the SnowStorm Union's third colony world, following the settlement of Diavolo.

Physical

The planet's terrain is dominated by arid deserts, craggy mountain ranges, and dry basins. No oceans exist, though limited water is imported from a nearby ice giant, a gas planet with glacial rings that serves as a water harvesting location.

Moons

Taygeta is accompanied by seventeen natural satellites, three of which are large enough to form into spherical shapes, though all are airless and geologically inert. The remaining moons are irregular asteroid captures, likely drawn in by the planet's gravitational pull.

A communications void retransmitter has been installed on the closest of these asteroid-moons, serving as a relay hub for deep-space transmissions and orbital coordination.
