Aeno Coalition
Template:!Nation InfoboxOriginally seven independent nations on their homeworld of Phenho, they expanded into the stars, each nation having it's own colonies. When the Mehereria Alliance invaded their borders, they banded together into a temporary alliance to repel the intruders. Four of the seven ultimately fell to the Vasden. But once the Javelins had been developed, and the homeworld of the Mehereria Alliance annihilated, many citizens felt at though they had gone too far. After the war, the leaders of the remaining 3 nations decided to formally declare the Aeno Coalition as an official state. Although no longer a coalition, they retained the name.
Economy
Unfortunately, they are quite resource-poor, as they are located in Aylathiya, so every ship or mech destroyed, is a direct blow to the economy. They also cannot have many ships or mechs, as they need resources to be built and maintained, something which the Coalition does not have an abundance of. Their Secondary currency, the mistah, is a tiny fraction of their cells, and therefore, their intellect, transferred from one Aeno to another. It is highly valuable, worth about 10,000 Jaspers. As you can see, the Coalition's economy is extremely complex. Today they control 254 systems, with most of them having ancient ruins or derelict megastructures.
Neighbors
Neighbors are defined by their borders being directly adjacent to Coalition borders. An image is below.
Districts
Once the Aeno Coalition formally became a singular nation, the 3 nations which made up the original Coalition were turned into districts and their names changed, While a fourth district was created to govern unbiased. Sub-districts exist, although not many.
- The Capital - A small planetstate, controlling the central government and Phenho. Created as an unbiased state to govern the Coalition.
- Crahn's Pass - Named after the mythical hero of Crahn, this region was thought to be holy in ancient times. However, the planets are not quite as well developed here as in other districts, as this region is extremely resource poor.

A map of bordering states. - The Crimson - a frontier riddled with pirates and criminals, the Crimson is an infamous sub-district that Coalition politicians keep making promises to remove, who then promptly remove those promises upon death threats.
- The Atrium - Made up mostly of the dark nebula Atrium, the planets here are mostly utilitarian, so mining outposts, military bases, and research stations. The most resource rich district by far.
- The Vessel - The heart of the Atrium, this is where approximately half of the Atrium Nebula's stars are.
- The Petals - the largest district, the Petals make up the majority of the Coalition. They house mainly garden worlds and residential planets. Resource-poor.

History
First Steps into the Cosmos
The Aeno's first journeys into the stars were on slower-than-light spearships, named for their very long hull, and speartip-shaped engine plume. 30 were sent out, 12 reached their destinations, colonizing them. But the other 18 were yet to be found, likely still traveling the stars. Maybe they will arrive on a thriving Aeno ecumenopolis in a hundred years time, or on the ruins of one.
The biggest problem with this method of colonization was communication. signals would take decades to reach the colonies and for their answer to come back. However, at the time, the homeworld of Phenho was dominated by ruthless corporations, all vying for power. One of these companies, Dubotune, came up with the Portant, a device that could theoretically produce a miniaturized wormhole, which was too small to send anything through, as it was barely a millimeter wide, but information could be sent through. After the necessary tests, they were sent out to every known Aeno colony. Most of the spearships carrying the Portants reached their destination after half a decade, but some lost contact. The colonies they were sent to were never heard back from.
Golden Age
Now that the colonies were in communication with the capital, innovation and ideas surged. Research speed multiplied exponentially. The first alien life was discovered in the form of the Vihn, an ancient bacteria frozen on an ice world. Little did the Aeno know, this was a strain of genetically engineered hyper-infectious ancient bioweapon created by the Triumvirate. This would come back to haunt them, much, much later.
Years later, the first gateways were opening in the capital. The portant technology had been improved on exponentially over the last decade, and was now a fully fledged wormhole transport system. Once the long and arduous journey to the colonies was over, it was now possible to freely travel between any colony. Of course, wormholes only link to one other wormhole, so each colony's gateway would link to The Hub, a giant circle of gateways linking to every colony. Untold prosperity and wealth came to the Aeno from the colonies, and the colonies reveled in it too. Everybody won. Huge amounts of technology was invented and the quality of life was raised very high. The Golden Age lasted for 46 years. At the end of the era was when the Mehereria Alliance was first discovered. It took a few months to work out the language difficulties, but once they did, the Aeno were shocked at what they heard.
First Aeno-Vasden War
The following is a work in progress
The Mehereria Alliance's fanatic state religion declared that all other species be annihilated. Being in the middle of nowhere galactically, left them with little options of who to kill first. They chose the Aeno as they perceived them to be the weakest. At the time, the Aeno were Kardashev 2.1, while the Vasden were 2.3. Their massive invasion fleet smashed through the border, the rarely reinforced Aeno border guard helpless to stop them. The Mehereria Alliance committed horrible atrocities against the Aeno on occupied planets, systematically purging the population indiscriminately. The glorious Last Stand of Cenov took place around now.
The Aeno needed an ace, and quick, as the Vasden were rapidly approaching Phenho. Three of the seven Coalition member states has been eradicated, and the fourth was nearing destruction. Fortunately, the scientists on Kor, an icy research and development planet, had come up with an ace in the hole. Project Zenith had bore it's fruit in the form of a hyper-relativistic kill vehicle. Nicknamed Javelin, it was a specially-designed spacecraft that could accelerate beyond the speed of light, and smash into a planet, completely decimating it. The tests were promising, the result was better than anyone expected. The barren test planet of Ksyel's crust was shattered. Torrid magma poured out of the breach, creating one of the best mining fields in the sector. The destruction was unimaginable.
A lone javelin streaked towards Delao, the capital of the Mehereria Alliance at the time. It hit with the unimaginable force of a trillion nuclear weapons. Tens of thousands of years of history, trillions of Vasden, quintillions worth of infrastructure, all gone. Even the Aeno wondered if they had gone too far. Yet, the Mehereria Alliance has committed genocide on their occupied planets, also murdering trillions of Aeno. Both sides realized that this war had gone too far. Even the hyper-religous zealots that were the Vasden. The Treaty of Kansho promised peace and prosperity, which both nations now longed for.
The First Aeno-Vasden War would go down in history as one of the most brutal minor conflicts in Aylathiya. Although only about 34 star systems were involved, and the casualties were nowhere near wars like the War of the Ancients, the sheer barbaric savagery which killed trillions could make up for that. It shaped the Aeno like no other event in their history did.

The Recession
After the war, with many citizens no longer sure that what they did was right, and the strategic resource reserves run dry, the economy fell into a deep recession.
