Amaranth Legacy has a simple and easy-to-follow set of guidelines which are expected to be followed in all community spaces.

Be polite

Treat others with basic respect. Try not to start arguments, and be cordial. Give constructive criticism when asked.

No bigotry

Don't publish, post, or upload anything that is or supports being discriminatory to people based on immutable characteristics (gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation, age, et cetera).

Content which contains in-universe bigotry but does not support it is allowed.

Regarding sexual and violent content

Don't publish, post, or upload any sexually explicit content, real-world violent content, or photorealistic violent content. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Visual depictions of reproductive anatomy
  • Visual depictions of sexual intercourse
  • In-depth written depictions of sexual intercourse
  • Visual depictions of real-life injury or gore
  • Visual depictions of photorealistic injury or gore

Some instances are allowed, such as:

  • Anatomical descriptions of reproductive anatomy
  • Non-detailed written depictions of sexual intercourse
  • Written depictions of injury or gore
  • Visual depictions of injury or gore in a fictional context

This is decided case by case by staff, and there is a very thin line between allowed and not allowed. The previous list is only a general overview. We reserve the right to approve or not approve your content.

No inflammatory or offensive profiles

Usernames, profile pictures, and user pages should not be inflammatory or offensive.

No vandalism

Respect our scopes! Please contact authors before making changes.

Regarding politics

Many settings deal with themes derived from or directly referencing real-life history / politics. This means the subject is unavoidable. Keep it civil; discussion about whether a fictional economic system would work can be fun, but remember that we are talking about fiction.

Language

This is primarily an English-speaking community. Therefore, we require the use of English. There may be channels for non-English speakers in the future, but as of right now, we ask you to use English in all instances.

Fanfiction and derivative works

Ask an author before creating an alternative version of their work. As for fanfiction of existing properties, we ask that it remains on the Fandom.

No AI-generated text content

You are not allowed to post AI-generated text content, either in full or as a significant part. However, you are allowed to post:

  • AI-assisted text content, such as:
    • Using AI to reword your text
    • Using AI to provide inspiration (sparsely)
    • Using AI to provide organizational assistance
  • AI-generated text content with significant modifications

We hold the stance that creative literature is about human expression of ideas, and that AI is incapable of replicating it.

For more information, please see the U.S. Copyright Office's Report on Copyright and Artificial Intelligence.

Avoid using other people's images

We encourage users to create their own images using whatever tools they like. In addition, many of our members are willing to create images for you.

If you are using an image from the Internet, make sure you are allowed to use said image and properly attribute the source and creator.

Regarding templates

Templates are an easy way to quickly change the look/layout of a page. Feel free to create as many templates as you need. However, for organization and standardization purposes, please refrain from creating new infoboxes.

If you feel that no infoboxes work for your needs, shoot us a message on our Discord and we can talk about either making a new infobox or adapting an existing infobox.

Page ownership and use

You retain ownership of your content when you submit it to this website. However, all content uploaded is under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported. See this page from Creative Commons for more information.

Regardless of this, you can request your pages be taken down for any reason at any time.

No rules lawyering

Do not try to evade or use the literal meaning of the rules to go around the intended meaning of the rules. If you do not understand a rule, please ask a Community Manager.
