Spoken about as though they are a myth, the Wytches are very much real, and something of an enigma.

It is not uncommon for various Kinde across the Cosmic Tide to blur the lines between biology and technology. Various Kinde such as the Biobyte have evolved to intergrade themselves with their machines, and the Vystallans are well known for their bio-technology. In this sense, Wytches are no different - But instead of merging with technology, Wytches are the end result of a merging between Taekni and the biological.

Wytches are classified as a Kinde, but this is is only half the story - Wytches are in fact, made up of multiple Kindes, individuals of which have undergone what the Wytches call 'the merging' - A fusion between the biological, and Taekni itself. It is done through a variety of rituals known only to the Wytches. This has caused multiple false 'First contact' scenarios, where individuals thought they had discovered a new Kinde - Only to learn later that they had come face-to-face with a Wytch.

They primarily operate out of the Forest Hidden by the Stars within the Realmlands, and claim to control a region of the Voidsea they have dubbed 'The Scar', which represents a border region between the Cosmic Union and the Twilight Imperium. In the Voidsea, they operate primarily out of the Void Islands Umbrawynd, Vaccus, and Tenebrea, while in the Realmlands, they operate from the Shadow's Hold. They are know to possess various 'Covens' scattered across various Spheres and territories, apparently on the lookout for others who have undergone the 'Merging' as they have. Of these holdings, Umbrawynd is considered the closest to a home-world.

Like just about every Kinde, there is variety in ideology and belief within Wytches. Some choose to leave and join other Spheres, or become part of other organizations. Despite this, while Wytches are known to exist, most know very little about them.
