Description

The Xa'Thin Commonwealth, commonly known as The Commonwealth, TXC, or just Commonwealth, is the home to all of Xa'Thainity. With a staggering 87.6 billion galaxies owned, The Commonwealth is the 2nd largest nation within our local multiverse. The Commonwealth is also largely known through the local universe, and many empires know its power as a result of its grand size. This cements The Commonwealth a vast, and powerful nation with countless amounts of interesting worlds, and sights to see. Even comprehending the sheer size and capability of this empire in nearly impossible, and knowing its lengthy history is even harder to do.

The Commonwealth controls much of the eastern hemisphere of the known universe, and is bleeding into the local multiverse rapidly. Countless amounts of projects and expeditions are being set within the new areas, and it will take many centuries for them to completely develop.

The Commonwealth's capital world, and homeworld is Lokira, a cool-mild terra, located within the center of the M110 galaxy. How such a powerful nation grew in M110 is quite the mystery, and The Commonwealth has been quite lucky in its past few millennia.

The Commonwealth is comprised of millions of tiny states, that conglomerate into bigger ones. These states come in orders of magnitude, with I being the first order of states, and V being the last. Each and every state is self-sufficient, and can trade with other states. The average Order V state takes up about 10 thousand galaxies, and it is hard to wrap around even a few of these states. Almost every single one has a unique world or worlds, and you can do many activities on them.

Some Commonwealth enclaves located outside of main borders dot the edges like little sprinkles. These states are complete colonies, and there are an upward of 30,000 at any time. These little states don't usually last very long by themselves, and they will be connected with the main Commonwealth shortly.

The Commonwealth is to be identified as a member of the Galactic Counsel. The Commonwealth is a high-ranking member of the Galactic Counsel, and it can make large choices without much consent from other members.

Internal Description

Creation of The Commonwealth

As the Xa'Thin Galactic Utopia's economy rapidly declined over taking too much resources, and spreading its territory out too thin, a new empire had to be planned of quickly. The Commonwealth was essentially a last ditch effort on saving Xa'Thainity.

Once the XGU disbanded, countless amounts of worlds set a different pace, and turned themselves over to The Commonwealth. About 64% of former XGU territory was given to The Commonwealth within a few months, and it seemed like enough. The rest of the territory was very thinly populated, and was either given to close allies, like The Confederacy, or abandoned entirely.

These new worlds suddenly had to change many factors about themselves. For a start, major worlds like Lokira, or Aboll had to immediately change their flag, calm the populations, and change many other small things like location, and technology dating. Then, they had to follow a brand new set of Commonwealth rules and recent treaties. Here are the simplified ground rules for The Commonwealth below.

Ground Rules for a new Commonwealth

  • The Commonwealth must tend to its wounds, and set on tasks for mining planets, and gaining sufficient amounts of resources.
  • The Commonwealth must abandon many XGU superstitious laws and rules for the betterment of the empire.
  • The Commonwealth must be peaceful or neutral unless provoked. In the event of a massive war, The Commonwealth must shift gears and develop spacecraft immediately.
  • The Commonwealth must gain the trust of smaller empires, and respect them rightfully so. This might include loaning entire galaxies for empires in need.
  • The Commonwealth is ordered to take the 4th place seat in the Galactic Counsel.
  • The Commonwealth must not expand until all of these requirements are met. Any major gains in territory by any faction, corporation, or company must be taken back, or loaned to nearby empires.
    • This may cause complications with small Type II empires, which will have to be loaned their own space as a result of the major loan from earlier.
  • The Commonwealth is required to update all technology to the newest versions. This will cost a drastic amount of funding, and it will take centuries at worst.
  • As soon as these rules and requirements are met, The Commonwealth can expand, but not too far as to cause a massive amount of thinning.

Expansion

As soon as the requirements for the new rules were met, many parts of The Commonwealth expanded at once. They did stop at the expected levels, and they set up shop at their areas. All seemed well at this time period, as new colonists had a much bigger window that let them stay more grounded to their world.

This process of setting up fortifications and cities, them moving on happened to be a huge profit. For a start, things like Dyson Swarms, and mass terraforming was given more time to expand in its area, as the companies who did it weren't rushed to take a claim in new territory. This was a major fault in the XGU, and it caused many companies to go bankrupt, or for some to split off and be deformed forever.

Countless amounts of planets were developed much better as a result of this action. Higher quality planetary defense was initiated, quality of life on new worlds drastically increased, and population did, as well. In fact, the average population of an old XGU colony was about a few million. The newer Commonwealth ones had an upward of billions! A large difference, indeed.

Eventually, The Commonwealth hit the edge of our universe. At around 183940 CE, the first self-sustainable colony was built at The Edge, and it would eventually be a huge pit stop for many incoming and outgoing travelers to other universes. This new colony was many millions of light years away from the main Commonwealth bubble, and it did not cause any fear of eventually being packed in only one universe within the main populous.

The War for All

The War for All had a substantial impact on Xa'Thin life. As soon as The Seekers invaded our home universe, using crafty sneaking methods, every single empire had to act fast. Only within a few years, territory that was far from the central core had to be disbanded, and its resources taken to help the war effort. new kinds of weapons hitherto unheard of had to be devised, and funds had to go straight to technology and military development. This caused The Commonwealth to shrink by about 9%, and it helped the war effort quite well. Sadly, it didn't prevent The Seekers to bombard major Xa'Thin worlds with the terrible dimensional-quaking bombs that The Seekers obtained. The war still crushed The Commonwealth, and it did worse for The Confederacy. Therefore, The Commonwealth had to give a huge sum of funds and technology to The Confederacy, dwindling the amount in The Commonwealth even more. These new times were trying, but most empires marched through the stormy conditions, and made it.

The Modern Commonwealth

Today's Xa'Thin Commonwealth is very stable, and it is slowly expanding into new areas. It still follows these millennia-ages rules and laws, of course with new additions added in to the mix. The Commonwealth is currently trying to update technology by the clock, and is currently investing on better ways to extract energy and keep its economy at the top. There is currently no motivation to cause a rapid escalation of economy, or technology, which could cause a Code Purple between the CoH. As a result from the fear of war, The Commonwealth is slowly going up, instead of major spikes. This calm escalation of economy is also very helpful for some smaller nations around The Commonwealth, and it motivates them to try harder, and perhaps make better decisions.

Current Technology

Ever since the large slowing of technology in the year 50000 CE[1], it has still stuck with many nations to this day. But, as of 199938 CE, reports have spoken of a large exponential boom, or a sort of 'awakening' in technology. This implies that by the year 201000 CE, current technology will be primitive at best. By this exponential standard, it is safe to say that since 50000 CE, technology has only progressed by 10000 years. Still, it is quite a lot of progress.

As of 200000 CE, many nations are reporting this exponential curve, and it seems like the expectations of reaching a type VII civilization is shortening by the year.

Current Policies

As of 200000 CE, The Commonwealth has forbade the use of an HAI,[2] or an OAI.[3] There are many movements to get rid of sapient AI altogether, and only purpose them for working, cleaning, and ship management. This movement is widely unaccepted, but it isn't frowned upon, either.

Why do Xa'Thins dislike HAI's or OAI's? Well, The Commonwealth and most of its inhabitants believe that The Shroud contains a nigh-infinite amount of power, and making even a proposed ZAI[4] would not match current Shroud-Harvesting tech.

Also another reason on why Xa'Thins don't use advanced AI's is that most Xa'Thins believe that robotic technology, or sapient robots are soulless. This reason has stuck with them even since The War for M110. We're looking at you, Shazaraks.[5]

Cybernetic Craze

Through the turn of the 200th millennium, many Xa'Thins have undergone internal cybernetic implants. The reasoning for this is to heighten psionic powers, decrease reaction time, and to be more intelligent overall. This new 'trend' is still quite mixed within the Xa'Thin community, and only a small fraction (about 0.00936%) have a large amount of cybernetic implants within their bodies.

Relationships with other nations

The Commonwealth has many relations with nations around the local multiverse. Here are some relations with large nations located around the Local Group and beyond.

The Confederacy

The Commonwealth has a great bond with the Confederacy of Humanity, and The Confederacy is one of The Commonwealth's biggest allies, if not the biggest. Both nations usually embark on large projects, and share technology with each other. In fact, not a single major conflict has occurred between The Confederacy and The Commonwealth has been recorded in history.[6] They have been together since the very beginnings, and have stuck with each other for what somehow seems like longer.

Xorthons

Commonwealth relationships with Xorthons have been spotty, at best. The Commonwealth essentially shuns the Xorthons for their infamous use of slavery, and has had minimal contact, and trade with them. The Xorthons do the same, and they just sort of exist angrily next to each other. The Commonwealth is currently trying to convince the Xorthons to phase out organic slavery, and at least use robotic helpers, instead.

Thesoki

The Commonwealth is quite peaceful and timid with the Thesokian people. Recently, as of 199927 CE, The Commonwealth has slowly loaned a large sum of area to them, to let them grow and prosper on their own. Some have even rumored that The Commonwealth is donating Universe Portals to let them start a fresh domain somewhere else.

Nok’Chu-Raa

The Commonwealth is quite neutral with the Nok'Chu-Raa, and has only begun mildly trading with them since the 195th millennium. The Commonwealth has also loaned land to them, and is currently trying to build better relations vi trading, and technological helping.

The Tlonian Empire

Contact with the Tlonian Empire is quite limited, because The Commonwealth does not have enough knowledge on them. The Commonwealth simply stated that The Tlonian Empire is an interesting Type-III civilization, and attempts to loan them land are being made.

As of 200000 CE, only a few dozen major transmissions have actually been made between The Commonwealth and The Tlonian Empire, and some Xa'Thin transmission experts did not detect any brain waves, or psionic traces from them. This made they very few conspiratorial, and overthinking transmission experts infer that they were a dangerous AI, like that is the case. Anyways, all is known is that they are a peaceful, yet mysterious empire who owns about 1/2 of the Tlonian Galaxy.

Economy, Lifestyle, and Notes

The Commonwealth has the best economy in the local multiverse. This allows for it to invest a large portion of money into technology, and the living quality of citizens. It is also known that The Commonwealth and The Confederacy have a very similar quality of life, and a minor race for perfect utopia is locally initiated between Confederate and Commonwealth systems that are nearby. These have pushed for absolute happiness, and perfection throughout a majority of the universe.

Xa'Thin and foreign life in this nation is so good, that there hasn't been an impoverished or disadvantaged area within The Commonwealth in millennia. The Commonwealth and its leader, Kra'Imir strive for perfection, and for a continuation of the grand 'Imir family hundred-millennia legacy.

The Commonwealth is a vast core for psionics, and psionic organisms. It is said that if you are born there, you have a large chance of gaining psychedelic powers, because of your teachings. It doesn't matter who you are, as long as you're sapient, and are civilized, you will have a large chance of getting psionic abilities by the age of 3 days[7].

Making new Xa'Thins/Soldiers

How are Xa'Thins made, you ask? Well, it does not involve a horrible birthing process, alike humans or other mammals. Millennia ago, before genetic cloning and even painless birthing, Xa'Thins laid large egg-like structures, which they would keep tended to for approximately 3 standard months. The hatching would then grow to be about 1/2 the mothers size, and walking within a few weeks. The newborn would also molt into new scales many times, causing messes. In a Xa'Thin home similar to a 21st century Earth, electronic heating and cooling for the eggs were readily available, and vaccines would sometimes be injected inside the egg if a vulnerability was detected.

Ever since the creation of cloning, most Xa'Thins have been created and taught in the lab. Most Xa'Thins are taught everything by neural linkage, and are given some unique memories of the universe to let them know their place. Every Xa'Thin can be given a custom name, as well. By hour 4, most Xa'Thins walk out of the lab, and pursuit a great life in front of them. The more rudimentary labs located on fresh colonies may take some Xa'Thins a few days or weeks in the lab to get adjusted, and some Amish communities have but a stop to cloning altogether, and they birth with the painful process.

With the process of cloning, new soldiers can be pumped out like there is no tomorrow. The labs that first created cloned soldiers gave them benefits. The labs gave them excellent strength with The Shroud, heightened anger, more adrenaline creation, tougher scales, and false memories of battle, and vigorous training. This method has been replaces by cybernetic enhancement, and by turning new soldiers' souls over to The Shroud right as they are born. This makes them a certified Shroud Entity, and these soldiers have sublime psionic power.
