'Vikja' is the term used to describe all the Shifting Kinde - Anyone who belongs to any of the Shifting Kinde is considered a Vikja. They were created by various Gögna-Vaettr, for a variety of different reasons.

Home

Home is a strange concept for a Vikja, they do not have a home-world in the sense that another Kinde, like the Koralai, Casorians, Vorxali, or the Children of the Stars. Indeed, Vikja are not even made up of the same Kinde in the same way. Because of this, there is no singular point of origin for any Vikja Kinde.

Instead, they have what are known as a Spiritual home-world, and Ancestral home-worlds. The primary difference between them being that Spiritual home-worlds are important to the Shift-Kinde (Fyrnex, Karkharias, Corvus, etc) while Ancestral home-worlds are important to the Home-Kinde (Kin, Elvendritch, etc)

Spiritual Home-Worlds

A Spiritual home-world is a world of ay type - A Void Island, Cove, Islet, or anything else - which is of immense importance to that particular Vikja-Kinde. This is usually one of two things:

  1. The world where the first 'pack' of that particular Vijka-Kinde originated. (Example: Nythera, of the Fyrnex)
  2. A world of immense important to the Vijka-Kinde in question for another reason, such as a major battle being fought there, the forming of a group, or being in an important location (Example: Iv'Kas'Kazakor for the Snaewyrm.)

Ancestral Home-Worlds

Ancestral home-worlds are worlds which are based upon the Home-Form of the Vikja in question, rather than what they transform into. Ancestral home-worlds are worlds which are important to that particular home-Kinde

For example, the Ancestral home-world of the Elvendritch-Vikja is Karoiro - This is the case regardless of what type of Vikja they are - Elvendritch-Fyrnex, Elvendritch-Snaewyrm, and Elvendritch-Corvus all consider Karoiro their Ancestral home-world.

Ancestral home-worlds in theory, can be any world that the Home-Kinde in question decide, as it is more a home-world of ancestral connection. It can be the world that originated their Kinde, a world that holds importance in their culture, Or any other reason. In practice, the eldest generations were the ones to choose the Vikja-Kindes Ancestral home-world, and simply tell the newer generations which it is.

List of Vikja

A list of the various Vikja Kinde
Name Type of Shift

Saurvask A strain capable of shifting into giant, ancient lizards, as seen on Zaurion. This is a more generalized term, as it refers to anyone capable of transforming into a giant lizard creature - Different types of lizard are known to the Saurvask under different names. For example, a tyrannosaur-shifter for would be called a Skaar, whereas a Stegosaur-shifter would be known as a Skegg - But both would be considered Saurvask.
Karkharias A Kinde of Vikja that transform into aquatic shark-like beasts. This term is used to refer to shark-like creatures from various worlds, and is a catch-all term for all breeds and sub-species therein. The Karkharias themselves have sub-divisions and classifications depending on the type of shark they can shift into, similat to the Drakvask
