Nythera
Void Cove
Frigid World
Void Island
Nythera is a Void Island within the Mythos Void Archipeligo. It is part of the Fasian Dominion and by extension, nominally part of the Cosmic Union. In spite of this, Nythera maintains a relative independence within both.
Despite having a breathable atmosphere, it was considered unsuitable for mass-scale colonization due to several factors. It was however, used as a testing ground for various de-extinction programs relating to life adapted to the cold from across the Greater Solar Union. Dire Wolves were introduced at one point, and remain a high ranking member of the Nytheran food chain.
During the Void Age, Nythera had a greater population compared to Fasia, though both served as background worlds in contrast to the Void Island that would become known as Wrynnexus. It was not until the Technopocalypse that this changed.
Following the emergence of the Broadwave, Nythera was considered a dead world - It's intensely hostile environment, from sub-zero temperatures, cryovolcanic activity, and massive glacial storms, meant that any non-native wildlife would struggle to survive without any advanced technology. Nearly all communications, or signs of life, were completely lost from the surface. The only signal that would emerge was a broadcast announcing total colonial failure, and request for aid. Only those that were truly desperate, and unable to reach Fasia, made the choice to settle on Nythera.
Unbeknownst for most of the Lost Age, Nytheran settlers did survive, in small clan-like structures, which would go on to be defined by their sheer resilience and incorruptibility. They survived in the shadows of the technological marvels their ancestors created, integrating Taekni as it emerged. It was not until the emergence of the Fasian Dominion that many learned that Nythera had sentient life on it's surface. Nythera was not a unified world when the Dominion arrived, and many reacted differently to it. Nythera would go on to become part of the Dominion, as well as part of the Cosmic Union during the merger, but it maintains it's own internal structures, which it defends vehemently.
It is also home to the Fyrnex.
