== Overview ==

The Quara'ke Universal Observatory is a large, ground-based optical telescope on the outskirts of the Embala Galaxy. It is located on the moon Mokta'ka (RS 0-8-12127916-989-58-4-3380-41 9.2, 980). The Observatory is used to study both close and distant galaxies in incredibly detail. It is one of the largest optical telescopes in Quara'ke Trifecta territory, with a mirror diameter of 110 metres

A highly-redshifted galaxy approximately 10 billion light years away.

History

The Observatory was constructed in 196,112 CE, funded primarily by the Quara'ke Trifecta and the Autonomous Republic of Embala in a joint effort to peer into the earlier days of the universe.. Originally, the QUO was going to be around 80 metres in diameter, but this was later changed to allow the telescope to view further at higher levels of detail. The current diameter is 110 metres, though there are requests to enlarge this to 150 metres. Originally, QUO was designed to be a research outpost on a moon on the outskirts of the Embala Galaxy but has since become a multipurpose outpost. It is mostly used to study and observe the early universe in order to help further the Quara'ke Trifecta's knowledge of how galaxies form among other things.
