The Distant Worlds universe currently spans five distinct settings, each designed to explore a different facet of its expansive narrative. These settings form the core framework of the world and, at present, no additional settings are planned. Each one serves a unique purpose and tone, and contributions are guided by their respective themes and limitations.
General Setting
The General Setting focuses primarily on the cosmological and digital foundations of Distant Worlds. It includes content related to:
- Computer systems and digital infrastructure
- Abstract or large-scale physics phenomena
- Interstellar or intergalactic objects and concepts
Articles that do not take place on a specific planet or do not reference a localized event default to this setting. It serves as the umbrella category for high-level or systemic elements that shape the broader universe. Use: Template:DSLogo
Milky Way Setting 50px
The Milky Way Setting chronicles the history, civilizations, and events occurring within the Milky Way Galaxy, the original cradle of humanity and still its cultural and political heart.
If an article discusses a specific place, faction, or event within the Milky Way, it belongs here. Use the Template:DSLogoMW for this setting.
This setting is open for contributions, provided that new additions do not overwrite or significantly alter existing historical narratives.
Edelweiss
Edelweiss is a distant galaxy characterized by the genre of human isolation. In this setting, humanity finds itself accidentally stranded in a galaxy devoid of intelligent life, silent graveyard of civilizations long gone. This isolation was the result of an unintentional genocide committed in the past, rendering the galaxy sterile and abandoned.
Colonists now traverse its ruins and forgotten histories, seeking meaning in its haunting silence. Use the Template:DSLogoED for contributions.
The setting is open, as long as contributions align with the tone of solitude, mystery, and the aftermath of extinction.
Fujin Galaxy
Fujin offers a sharp contrast to Edelweiss. It is a living galaxy, vibrant with ancient civilizations that have embraced humanity with unexpected warmth. The narrative tone here centers on exploration, diplomacy, and discovery.
At the heart of Fujin is the Tiqqun (also known as The Palace), a massive megaship that journeys from world to world, documenting its findings before ultimately departing neighboring galaxy to fulfill a predestined mission following the completion of its construction.
Use the Template:DSLogoFJ when contributing to this setting.
Contributions are welcome, so long as they respect the core premise of Tiqqun’s voyage and Fujin’s unique cultural tapestry.
{P.S Athezians will get really angry if fungal life is not takes with care}
Eoch Pruae
Eoch Pruae is a specialized, globular cluster subsetting located within the Milky Way. Originally conceived as a personal exploration and archival project in the Elite: Dangerous game by mMONTAGEe, TheStellarExplorer, ASmallerMolecule, and Hellrider, this setting seeks to preserve the memories, discoveries, and memes of that journey.
This setting is closed to public contributions, with permissions granted only to its original members: mMONTAGEe, TheStellarExplorer, and ASmallerMolecule.
