Thulcandran Evacuation

"Those blockheads at the upper LaC KNOW that they will lose this war... It's just... Why won't they let us free?! Why wont they let our lives be saved before the enemy comes to murder us like animals?! I am sure that everyone is pondering this, which is why I come with a solution. My solution for our survival must involve evacuating this dangerous realm, and going far, far away. Only then will we be happy, as peaceful people... as Thulcandrans... Now let us fight and march without the control of the corrupt LaC!"
- A certain activist performing a speech, mere weeks before the Thulcandran Evacuation took place.
Description
Template:NEW Conflict Template! The Thulcandran Evacuation was an outstretched event in the War of the Decamillennial Transition, which consisted of the population of Thulcandra evacuating in massive 'arks'. Surrounding colonies in the same system and surrounding star systems also evacuated, which angered the losing Lactean Confederacy. It is known that the LaC made a last-ditch effort for keeping Thulcandra, since it was a very powerful planet under LaC jurisdiction.
In total, over ten billion evacuees from the planet Thulcandra successfully escaped, with a staggering victory for them. About 127,000 Thulcandrans died in this entire event, while millions of LaC government officials and pilots died in the battle. The unexpected victory for the Thulcandrans is likely from the willpower of many people, and the surprising acceptance of enemy refuge. LaC forces were known to hopelessly regain the evacuation forces, but were met by stronger enemy forces, protecting the victims.
History
This conflict happened near the end of the War of the Decamillennial Transition, since Thulcandra was a heavily protected world. With enemy forces closing off many areas of the LaC, instability increased and uncertainty was on the rise. The people of Thulcandra had enough at this point, and tried to petition the LaC government to leave. The LaC, seeing the large potential in Thulcandra, held a vote which was influenced by the government. This vote, soon falling into the favor of the LaC, denied Thulcandrans the evacuation in which they needed.
Understandably, the population of Thulcandra was furious. Protests broke out rapidly, demanding more from the LaC government. Groups of people and soon industries would voice themselves, but it seemed to be in vain. This was becayse the war was ongoing, and the government did not want to hear Thulcandra's pleas. As a result, the people began to rise up, and soon formed a rudimentary fleet of evacuation ships. The planetary government initially tried to stop this, but soon joined the efforts for their survival. By this time, enemy forces were getting very close to Thulcandra, so people worked around the clock to gather belongings, and prepare for the treacherous journey.
On a day decided by the Thulcandran Government, all evacuation ships rose up and left Thulcandra, rendering it abandoned. The government went on board the largest ships, with the planetary military leading the efforts for evacuation. In total, approximately 9 billion Thulcandrans evacuated the planet, with not many others remaining on the surface. The evacuation ships soon headed to the outskirts of the shrinking LaC territory, attempting to seek refuge. This operation was the most risky part of the campaign, since it relied on turning themselves in to the enemy. This was remedied as much as possible, since the fleet broke from a formation and displayed their lights for surrender.
Soon enough, a foreign fleet saw the Thulcandran evacuation force, and noted their surrender positions. After quick communications, the foreigners took them in, and the Thulcandrans were disarmed. They would live on these ships on and off for years, hopping from planet to planet. This planet-hopping voyage would be stopped by the LaC, which was furious after seeing Thulcandra being abandoned. Enemy forces even mocked the LaC, since they were incapable of keeping their own people. Eventually, the LaC cornered off the now nomadic forces, which were stripped of their weapons. A massive fight then broke between the LaC and the evacuation forces, which is what resulted in most of the causalities. However, foreign forces soon came in and fought the small LaC force, driving them off and obliterating the pilot forces.
Not long after this battle, the War of the Decamillennial Transition came to a close. The Thulcandrans were now free, operating in foreign territory for the time being. It would take several centuries and a period of anarchy/reformation for Thulcandra to be re-settled, by a new nation known as the Thulcandran Federation.
