Brock Slateley

Able to change his flesh to stone and back thanks to a radioactive meteorite he was sent to study. Geologist Brock Slateley's DNA was mutated giving him the ability to change into any type of mineral on Earth or in Space, as well as create photoplasmic energy constructs and blasts from within his body and fire them from any point in his body at will. He eventually came to call himself Stoneheart, and join the Guardians of Earth.

History

Brock had a somewhat normal childhood, he had always had an obsession with rocks and had always dreamed of being a geologist. A passion his parents had always encouraged him towards.

And sure enough after years of hard work and studying he earned himself a position as a geologist for IgneoCorp, a controversial company who specialized in mining, metal refinery and manufacturing, who often used underhanded and illegal methods of securing land to mine, and treating their workers horribly.

Brock worked with the company, unaware of the companies dark side, mostly doing soil studies, identifying unusual minerals and warning the people in charge of any potential dangers.

Brock wasn’t stupid however, he noticed the irresponsible practices after some time and repeatedly brought these concerns to the attention of his higher-ups, causing them to quickly become concerned he may continue to dig into their illegal operations and dealings.

So when a meteorite began causing anomalies near its crash site they had the perfect way to get rid of the potential problem,

They sent Brock to ‘study’ the meteorite, under the pretense that they wanted to know what the rock was made of.

Not thinking much of the request, Brock went off to the crash site in rural North Dakota. And the trap was sprung, a hired gun ‘took care’ of Brock, carefully positioning the man to look like he had died while inspecting the meteorite.

Fortunately for Brock he was simply left unconscious.

As he lay draped over the meteor, the strange energy within began to mutate, an anomalous element within the meteorite was replacing the organic core of Geoff's cells with the element's mineral form. transforming Brock into a stony-skinned rock man.

Powers and Abilities

Increased Durability - naturally, being made of stone Brock has significantly enhanced durability.
Increased Strength - Brock has highly increased strength, though it is not comparable to the strength displayed by Cro-Magnum or Mr. Ultimate
Mineral Metamorphosis - Brock can synthesize and morph his body into nearly any mineral he can imagine, or even several at a time. With the exception of his heart which cannot be changed or have its mineral composition copied to other parts of his body.
Photoplasmic Energy Blasts - Brock can fire Blasts and beams of light energy from his heart.
Photoplasmic Energy Constructs - Brock's heart can also create stable, temporary constructs of nearly anything he can imagine, though Brock must focus on the stability of said constructs or else they will shatter
