Mana Batteries/Basic Processors

Mana Battery
Any mana powered machine needs a source of mana to function, those mana sources are referred to as mana batteries. A mana battery is made from some form of stabilized mana, and generally speaking, the more pure mana is, the more prized it is as a mana battery, as purer mana crystals are more energy dense. As a mana battery is made of purely stabilized mana, it requires a mana conduit to slowly destabilize and direct the mana into a mana powered machine. Mana batteries look like crystals, coloured depending on what types of impurities are in them, but typically appears more indigo the purer it is. They can be all sorts of colours, especially the less pure ones.


Mana Conduit
A mana battery cannot release energy on its own, as such, they’re generally attached to a mana conduit, a machine used to slowly destabilize mana over a long period of time, as well as direct the energy released from it. Often, a mana conduit also attaches to a mechanism to convert mana into another form of energy, like kinetic force, heat, light, sound, or whatever else is needed for the machine it’s a part of. Mana conduits are typically made of mana crystals with specific materials in them, typically copper or gold, as their conductivity makes for good mana conduits. As a result, they typically have colours related to those materials, either a gold or copper tint or sheen.


Charging Beam
Often, it’s inconvenient to put a large and powerful mana battery on every device, as such, many machines use smaller mana batteries which need to be recharged. To recharge these batteries, as well as send mana over distances, there are charging beams, machines that shoot a laser of mana which can be accessed by a beam receiver in another location to either charge a mana battery, or occasionally even just directly power a machine. The beam projector typically looks like a crystal where the beam is emitted, and the beam itself typically is a glowing purple/blue line connecting the two, with a thickness and intensity dependent on the amount of mana being transferred at once.


Beam Receiver
Mana beams need somewhere to go, as such, machines need beam receivers to accept them. Though many older beam receivers where more particular, most modern ones can generally receive several kinds of mana beams, allowing them to be used not only for charging, but also to receive many forms of data, including being able to send commands. Additionally, a lot of modern beam receivers have an additional function to detect the exact direction their input is coming from. Typically, they appear as a crystal that connects to the mana beam, often with an autowizard attached that processes and controls the mana received.

Autowizard

Autowizard
Though originally only designed as a device to simplify complex inputs on a spellcasting implement, the nature of autowizards caused them to quickly become a technology used for general calculations, and from there, they further developed into what they are now, mana based computers. Autowizards are used everywhere, from many individuals having one for personal use, to modern airships using them to help control steering, keep atmospheric systems up and running, and work as a general diagnostic, to being used when making specialty equipment in almost any field, autowizards are often known for being the technology that started the modern era.
Cornerscreen
Cornerscreens are a type of handheld general use autowizard developed and produced by the Paluve Corporation. They’re often known to be a sign of status to own, as their isn’t many other similar products in the market, and they’re by far the most well known brand. Their main features include access to the Aethernet, a camera, a communication service, a music service, a calculator, a word processor, and an application download service.
The Aethernet
The Aethernet is a general interconnected web of communication channels that connect autowizards designed with an Aethernet adapter that is connected to an Aethernet modem, allowing for long-distance communication and information transfer/storage across the majority of the Great Sea’s Archipelago. The Aethernet consists primarily of forums and public digital journals, as it’s still relatively new and exclusive, but many expect it to become more relevant as time goes on.
Aethernet Modem
An Aethernet Modem is the access point for the Aethernet. It’s the middleman between the Aethernet and Aethernet adapters, ensuring a regulated connection. It allows for various controls over Aethernet connections, such as limiting the connection speed and who can connect. It’s not uncommon to find one in most higher-class households throughout the Great Sea’s Archipelago. Currently, they’re still too expensive to be worth having everywhere, but that’s expected to change over time.
Aethernet Adapter
An Aethernet adapter is a small part in a device that allows for that device to connect to an Aethernet modem, allowing the device to access the Aethernet. It’s the main limiting factor in Aethernet connection speed, as making such a compact piece of technology work efficiently is a difficult task.

Gravity Engines

Gravity Engine
Gravity engines are used in nearly all airships, using mana to bend the way gravity affects an object. In smaller cases, they can function alone, however, in airships, especially ones designed to traverse across the void, they need to be run in conjunction with a gravity anchor, which effectively gives the gravity engine a grounded point to ‘push off’ and navigate with, additionally giving the gravity engine more power to function.
Gravity Anchor
Gravity anchors are towers that are designed to work in conjunction with larger gravity engines, typically those on airships. They help the gravity engines remain stable and give a standardized and regular mass to function in relation to. Most gravity anchors are managed by corporations that will typically charge a fee to use, especially for extended periods of time.
Sky Skates
As technology advances, and people build more vertically, the ability to move even when there’s nothing but empty space between two became more desirable, as such, a technology was developed using smaller gravity engines to make a footwear used to skate over the very air, thusly named sky skates. These skates have built in gyroscopes to help assist in staying upright, as well as to help flip oneself back over if they do manage to flip themself in the air.
Sky Wire
As sky skates became increasingly common, a technology was soon developed called a sky wire, which is a form of extended gravity anchor designed so any sky skates gliding over it will be pulled along in a specific direction quickly and automatically. They’re sometimes installed in places where sky skate travel is done frequently, to help expedite it, as well as being used in certain other places to allow sky skates to more easily be used to quickly climb vertically.

Misc

Spellcasting Implement
Having a long history starting from simple tools to expel mana as kinetic force, to later developing into more and more complex and precise tools to manipulate mana, modern spellcasting impliments are generally only used by people who cast magic on the spot as an artform, or people more manually manipulating or hacking mana based machines. To use a spellcasting implement, the castor needs to know the magic language to give inputs in, then be able to precisely give those inputs on the spot, as such, they’re generally considered too inconvenient to learn to use.
Transfer Beam
Many long distance communication or information transferring systems are connected with a mana beam, which sends information from one autowizard to another. For information to be sent this way, a transfer beam must be sent to a beam receiver designed to accept it. Transfer beams are also commonly know as com beams, or information beams.
