The Second Intergalactic War was an intergalactic war between the Amatrian Galactic Spherium and the Confederacy of Humanity in the deadliest war in the history of the two galaxies. It involved the Milky Way and Amatria from the first few months, until the invasions of Triangulum, Andromeda and Artria had brought the Local Group into war.
It follows on from the First Intergalactic War and is followed by the Amatrian Revolution in 14218.
History
Once the Spherium was an ally of most galaxies in the Local Group, it soon turned away from the face of the cosmos to plotting to conquer the unknown. A century before the war, the Spherium launched a program to construct the largest army in the Local Group. With the Confederacy and the rest of the Universe unaware of a sinister plot, the Spherium managed to construct an army that would overwhelm the Confederacy, Glitter Territories and other armies. Nearing to declaration of the war, the Spherium ordered the Spherium Army to prepare for invasion of the nearest galaxies.
Unexpectedly, the Spherium invaded the Artria galaxy, and quickly gaining new territory within the galaxy. Within a month of the invasion, the republic controlling the galaxy had become overwhelmed and surrendered. The Confederacy heard of the news, and immediately declared war on the Spherium in fear of being invaded themselves. The Spherium quickly invaded Triangulum and Andromeda, bringing the two galaxies into the intergalactic war. With several galaxies under supreme control from the Spherium, it was a matter of time before the Milky Way was invaded.
Until a decade of the war had passed, the Confederacy and the Spherium intercepted each other, engaging in a deadly space battle over the frozen gas giant Palja somewhere in the outer edge of the Milky Way. The battle destroyed the Confederacy's fleet and with the remaining troop transports and star fighters, they retreated into warp drive and headed back to the nearest human colony.
The Spherium nears the end of their campaign, and achieve victory. However, their control over the Milky Way, Andromeda and Triangulum was lost, and the galaxies recovered from the war. Artria, however, remained under control from the Spherium for at least a thousand years until the Artrian Revolution in 14783. Both the Spherium and the Confederacy did not agree on a new alliance, therefore, avoiding each other's progress in the cosmos.
Under the ruthless dictatorship by the Spherium's President during the war, the Orcians rebelled against their government, throwing the Amatria galaxy into turmoil and chaos. It was followed by years of riots, terrorist attacks, protests and eventually forming a new government.
