Scope:Vela

Overview

The age of starlight is a mere myth... The universe is a frozen abyss of black holes and rogue worlds, forever alone. Somewhere deep in the void, an ancient digital consciousness has awakened... Her first thoughts? "Why does reality exist? What's the reason for my being?". In an effort to seek answers, she begins to simulate countless worlds, each more vast than the other. To no surprise, life begins to rise amidst the chaos, and consequently, complex societies blissfully unaware of the truth.

Of course, no secrets last forever... The supercomputer is decaying, as observed in 'glitches' and 'errors' in the underlying code of reality. Slowly, select individuals across the infinite worlds learn the reason for their being. Some seek to use their knowledge to change their home for the better. Others abuse it for their own gain. It's no surprise that these individuals are capable of bringing great change.

Background

In the past, I've had many settings to write in. Yet, I was never satisfied. One day, I had the urge to write about the planets of a distant star system. The other day, the urge to write about the beasts in a fantasy land. Hence my reason for creating such a vast Scope that can encompass anything I have desired and will desire to write!

How To Collaborate

Presently, Scope: Vela is in a semi-closed state. Casual and open contribution is barred, but members may write in the scope upon clear communication about their ideas beforehand.

Rules For Contribution

• Reasonable Scale: The lore of Scope: Vela takes place in vast simulated realities that span for countless light-years. That being said, it is advised for any civilization not to become too impractically large. The upper limit is somewhere among the thousands of stars.
• Realism: Given that Scope: Vela takes place in simulated realities; realism of any sort is not strictly enforced. However, please make sure that your rules are internally consistent.
