The Milky Way Anomaly 'is the collective word for the tens of thousands of anomalous ships that appear in and around the Milky Way Galaxy. While most commonly appearing in the Milky Way, these ships are common elsewhere in the local group and other galaxies visible from Earth. The reason for their existence is unknown.

General

At any given time fifty to one hundred instances of The Milky Way Anomaly will come into existence somewhere within the Local Group. These instances are one of the 17 recorded variants. Eye-witness reports suggest that the actual number of variants is higher. The instances typically appear near planets bearing life, having oceans, or can otherwise be described as "earth-like." The vast majority of instances (84%) appear in the Sol System. The reason for this is unknown.

These instances all have certain shared qualities:

  • They are indestructible
  • They can move an upwards of three million times the speed of light
  • They appear to be designed in a primitive fashion
  • They have no weapons
  • They emit no signals
  • The markings written on them are indecipherable

After existing from any amount of time from one day to over three decades, the instances disappears. High speed footage caught of one reveals that this process takes place within a Planck Second.

No pilots are ever found within an instance of the anomaly, suggesting some form of remote control.

Behavior

Once coming into be, the instances typically follow erratic and unpredictable behaviors.

Many try to orbit the nearest planet, others fly at the ludicrous speeds to other galaxies, only to stop in the center of the inter-galactic void, and still others make no attempt to orbit a planet and simply crash into it. Their indestructibility and high speeds make them particularly dangerous in this sense.

Below is the first recorded video of an instance of The Milky Way Anomaly. The government of The United States of America has kept this video classified for over a decade before revealing it's existence to the public. The variant recorded here never been recorded again after the shooting of the video.

The anomaly has also been known to appear in pairs. These pairs move towards each other, dock onto one another, and begin moving at the usual impossible speeds. When this occurs, they typically disappear before their flight is over.

Attempts to capture an instance are currently ongoing. They seem to have no way of detecting vessels in their path, typically flying right through them, causing irreparable damage.
