The existence of the [[Broadwave]] and [[Taekni]] is said to have had a strange effect on Vystall - While Taekni is capable of warping reality, the one area in which it cannot directly impact people is their minds - This extends to mechanical life. Various machinery utilized Artificial Intelligence on Vystall before the Broadwave arrived, and this was left unharmed, though a vast majority of the technology this AI used was. This is in spite of various recovered historical records stating that the only AI used on Vystall was algorithmic, simple AI. This suggests that this particular AI strand had become sentient, and no one had realized it - Or that it hid itself from it's overseers. |

It would take this Artificial Intelligence a long time to create bodies for themselves, utilizing what little technology had survived as a method of constructing things within the material world. Once they emerged, the Artificial Intelligence began to refer to themselves as the Vystallan's, and their world, they named after themselves - Vystall. |

Before the Suratronic-Mechatar war broke out, Vystall was under the control of 'The Regime'. The Regime focused on maintaining Vystallan civilization via a caste system, which ensured that the world would always have enough workers in enough sectors to function and become a regional power, with the potential to become a Major Sphere. The Regime ruled through soft power, propaganda campaigns and civilic manipulation, deeply subtle in it's approach, to maintain the status quo by ensuring the majority were satisfied with their lot in life. Many Vystallan's had what they considered to be freedoms beyond their Caste-oriented roles, and were otherwise vulnerable to whatever messaging the Regime would put out. |

Since the creation of the Vystallans, Vystall has had a major role in local Voidsea politics - Though it had the potential to be a far greater force, it was prevented from doing so by a massive civil war that split the world in two - Between two primary antagonistic forces - The Suratronic's, and the Mechatar. |

History
Vystall's history is cloaked in myth. It is believed that the Regime had purged many of the ancient records that detailed the true history of Vystall.
Eventully, things came to a head - The Mechatar and Suratronic movements began in earnest, for different reasons, but they shared the same goal - the End of the Regime. The Clampdown was a period of time in which strict martial law was put into place, with endless purges, mass arrests, and political surpression. Instead of demoralizing the population however, all this did was boost the tenacity and ferocity of the movements. Acting as allies initially, the two managed to overthrow the Regime - Only for the Mechatar to soon turn against the Suratronics, bringing about the start of the Suratronic-Mechatar War.
Description
Vystall would be considered an ideal environment for multiple organic Kinde - It contains all the building blocks requires for life to thrive. It possesses a nitrogen-argon-oxygen atmosphere, which, outside from causing some respiratory issues for some Kinde, makes it an overall world for colonization - Were it not for the Vystallan's inhabiting it.
Since the days of plunder, Vystalls ecosystem has grown far more diverse and unique - species of flora and fauna that came from different worlds began to intermix, compete, and eventually cross0pollinate and breed, creating new forms of life unique to Vystalls ecosystem. Much of this was done by accident, as the Vystallan Regime did not much care for the intricacies of biological life beyond it's utilitarian use as bio-technology.
Vystallan civilization is made up of four megacities, constructed out of stone, metal, and interwoven with nature, imported from various Void Islands. These four megacities are the hub of political, civic , and economic engagement.
The parts of Vystall that are not part of the megacities are dedicated to the cultivation of their biomatter - Flora and non-sentient fauna. These are necessary for the construction of the Bio-Technology the Vystallans utilize. During the Suratronic-Mechatar war, these regions were considered no-mans lands, with large battles taking place there, as each side attempted to make their way into the others megacities.
Megacities
There are four megacities on Vystall, all of which constitute their own polity - A self-governed region which is theoretically beholden to the Void Island government. In order of largest to smallest:
Gearwerk
It is said that Gearvwerk is built upon the site that the Vystallan Kinde first gained awareness. By size it is the largest megacity, and is located along the equator. It had evolved into a site of learning and academia, with scientific advancements being its primary export to the other megacities.
Politically, Gearwerk was the home of the Suratronic Faction during their war against the Mechatar. A major progressive faction was perated out of this megacity, seeking an end to the exploitation and autocratic regime on Vystall at the time, and an end to the colonial projects. Once these things ended, It was invaded by Tarmacht as the Mechatar rose to power, and this invasion marked the moment that the war began.
Tarmacht
Second in size, Tarmacht was a centre of Voidsea infrastructure. Originally constructed as part of a colonial expedition to the other side of Vystall, many settlers decided to remain, and constructed the new megacity, which became known after the leader of the expedition, Tarmacht Omega.
It became the manufacturing centre of Vystall - The Vystallan Kinde tend to look down on the use of metals to forge technology and building, due to those being the materials of Shells and Vystallan life. However, when the need arises, especially in the era of Voidsea travel, much of the materials come from Tarmacht.
During the Suratronic-Mechatar war, Tarmacht became the main seat of power for the Mechatar.
Devetexar
Devetexar is a megacity located within the southern hemisphere. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful parts of Vystall by other Kinde, as the primary focus of this region is the cultivation and expansion of bio-tech. As a direct result, the Devetexar is highly integrated with nature.
Arktop
Arktop is located in the northern hemisphere, within the polar region. It is one of the regions on Vystall which has historically been mroe accepting of the use of mechanical technology - this is due to the colder climates in the Arktop megacity sometimes hindering the functionality of bio-tech.
For this reason, there was large political support for the Mechatar cause during the war, though various resistance groups did operate throughout the region for the entirety of the conflict.
Beyond this, Arktop functions are a Voidsea centre - It is in contact with the orbital command the most, and has access to various infrastructure used for rapid deployment into the Voidsea.
