In both Inveris as Inverium there are 3 gods, these being Oralla, Paxum, and their combination, Opyue. Opyue is a fusion of Oralla and Paxum, and to some is more the deified manifestation of Oralla and Paxums relationship. Oralla and Paxum are in the religion written to be wedded to one another, with their union bringing forth Opyue, not as child but as a combination of them. Due to this combined nature it used to be believed (and occasionally still is) that Opyue swaps gender every week, with the final day of the week being saved for Oralla and Paxum to split and be their own individuals again. Due to this swapping of gender they ended up being reinterpreted as a genderfluid deity in the modern days of the religion, with some artists even making it a point to depict Opyue differently each time they do.

Other schisms of the religion add another deity, this being J-J. For those that do believe in the schism in which J-J is a god, they're either viewed as an observer of their universe, or a punisher for those who sinned in life, and possibly even in death.

The Inverites, no matter which schism they follow, have a total of 3 afterlives. The first is Mercio, it's the world theirs is binary with. Mercio is viewed as a peaceful afterlife. Supposedly if you were to have passed away as someone who didn't sin or whose virtues outweighed their sins, then you'd have been sent to Mercio, where you would inhabit small towns near the lakes of Mercio. Life in Mercio would be simple and enjoyable, a peaceful afterlife. Whether or not you remain here or move elsewhere depends entirely on the individual. Sins committed on Mercio can result in being sent to Faun. If an individual no longer seeks to live on Mercio then they can move on to the final afterlife, Ohser.

The second afterlife is Faun. This afterlife is used as a punishment for those who sinned greatly in their lives. The world is covered in vast lifeforms, all of which hunger for Netharim blood. This ecosystem causes the torture for the sinners, as they're forced to be preyed upon, and even once caught, still have to endure their body regrowing and starting the cycle anew. In the Inveris Vumon schism J-J aids in punishing the Netharim by using various methods. Some are tied to rocks and forced to drown in lakes over and over again, others are forced to burn in the pits of volcanoes for centuries. Escaping Faun is possible, if an individual is deemed to have suffered enough and to have learnt their lesson then they'll be sent to Mercio, where they can enjoy that afterlife instead. The people on Faun are not granted the privilege to move to Ohser, not unless they manage to be moved to Mercio.

The last and final "afterlife", Ohser, isn't truly an "afterlife". Instead it's what people consider to be the true last stage of living, non-existence. It's a reward to those who are on Mercio and a dream to those on Faun, for those still living, however, it can often be considered a nightmare, with many not wanting a true death to happen, and instead wanting to continue living afterwards.

Deities

Afterlife
