Biology and Appearance

The only solid part of their bodies is a carbon ‘skeleton’ that produces lots of oil-like liquid that is extremely flammable as well as slick and sticky. Butanians can spread this liquid at will to create walls or trails of flame.

A Butanian dies when their skeleton can no longer produce the oily liquid. A Butanian will become unconscious if the flames are snuffed out by water or lack of oxygen but as long as the flames can reignite they can remain alive indefinitely.
