The '''Iriat Galaxy''' is a small dwarf irregular galaxy orbiting the [[Flower Galaxy]], located roughly 10 million ly from the [[Milky Way Galaxy|Milky Way]]. It has a small number of intelligent species, only one of which has achieved interstellar travel, the [[The Free Coalition of Aligned Dra'konia|Free Coalition of Aligned Dra'Konia]]. Because of this relative scarcity of intelligent life, the Iriat Galaxy is not very well known. However, the Coalition lends it some fame by being the main inventor of the Spike Drive, a very efficient and very fast method of traveling huge distances, which has led to its adoption throughout the Flower Galaxy. |

Iriat is a small region on the far edge of Florathel, in the Elerad Sector. Iriat consists of the spehre of influence of the Xeros System and much of the interstellar space surrounding it. Its remoteness from colonized space lead to long journeys to the region, meaning that the the Xeros System and surrounding space are not well known. The Oralat Virtual Utopia, its largest native civilization, is a uniquely computer-based society created in the aftermath of the Years of Fire in the Oralat species' attempt to flee the conflict.
