Cnara-Frealee Federation

Cnara-Frealee Federation The flag of the Cnara-Frealee Federation. Description The Cnara-Frealee Federation, abbreviated as the CFF, is a nation controlling 5.9 billion stars in and around the core of Florathel. The nation is a heavily decentralized federation, much like the Commonwealth or similar nations of its caliber. It is the primary nation of Carleans within the Flower Subcluster, with roughly 63% Carlean population. The Federation was one of the founding members of the United Nations of Florathel, and arranged the treaty to create it. It has brought forth a project to create a birch planet around The Heart of Providence, but this has not yet actually begun construction. Capitals The Cnara-Frealee Federation, as a byproduct of its unique origins, has two capitals, Carlea and Darvikus. These planets contain different functions of government, and are the homeworlds of the two most powerful species of the Federation, the Carleans and Darvikans. Area The area of the Cnara-Frealee Federation is very large, with 5.9 billion star systems under its jurisdiction. The area of the Cnara-Frealee Federation gives it a large population and a huge amount of representation in the Quorum of Nations. The area covered by the Cnara-Frealee Federation is also denser in population and activity than the two next largest nations, the MIU and the EFS, which is because of a mindset of efficiency in the upper levels of the nation.

Economic Federation of Saleas

Economic Federation of Saleas The flag of the Economic Federation of Saleas. Description The Economic Federation of Saleas, often reffered to as the Federation of Saleas or shortened to the EFS, is a federal republic which exists in Florathel, with some small colonies in the Elerad Arm. The EFS borders the Cnara-Frealee Federation towards the core, the Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune towards the rim, the Free Nation of Garrea spinwards, and the Marakat Interstellar Union antispinwards. Having some sort of influence of over four billion star systems, the EFS is one of the largest nations in the United Nations of Florathel. The Federation of Saleas is also a permanent member of the UNFG Security Council, which helps decide many overarching policies in Florathel's neighborhood. Capital Unlike its larger neighbor, the EFS only has one true capital, the icy world of Saleas. Saleas contains all government functions and is also the most populous planet in the EFS. Saleas is also the home of the Salakela, the founding species of the EFS. As of now, Saleas is slowly melting under the heat of its red giant sun, though there is a vast variable sunshield being constructed at the planet's L1 point. Saleas' system, the Parvo-Aa System, contains many major planets as well, including Virelask, Coros, and Tarekass. Area The area of the EFS alone makes it extremely influential in Florathel, with 4.6 billion star systems under its jurisdiction. The area of the EFS gives it a large population and resource output and a huge amount of representation in the Quorum of Nations. The area covered by the EFS is relatively sparsely populated, with many systems devoted solely to resource gathering.

Marakat Interstellar Union

Marakat Interstellar Union The flag of the Marakat Interstellar Union. Description The Marakat Interstellar Union is a democratic assembly of provinces located in the Charity Arm of Florathel. It is a founding member of the United Nations of Florathel. The Marakat Interstellar Union also has a small amount of territory in the galactic halo above and below its territory in the Charity Arm, as well as a few systems in Iriat Cloud, and manages to have a large amount of trade lanes going through its territory. It is bordered by the Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune towards the rim, the Kingdom of Saihera and the Pecay-Po Federation of Nalachi above and below the disk, and the Providence Neutral Zone towards the core. The most populated planet in the MIU is Artaclate, as it has been since the Union's founding. Capital The capital of the Marakat Interstellar Union is an ecumenopolis known as Artaclate. Artaclate has always been the most populated world in the MIU, giving it a large amount of prestige and fame. Artaclate is primarily focused on heavy industry and commerce, and is surrounded by many stations and drydocks, and is close to a valuable wormhole station with links to the other four major worlds. Artaclate also orbits a so-called frozen star, a star which has a lower temperature than it should due to extremely high metallicity. These stars are prime starlifting sites, allowing Artaclate's system to be filled to bursting with a huge amount of megastructures. As such, Artaclate is a perfect place to create a prosperous nation. Area The MIU is separated into five main provinces, each of which is separated into several sub-provinces, implemented to maintain a stable decentralized government over the diverse species under the control of the Union. Most provinces are relatively sparsely populated, with the Artaclate Province containing a full 72 percent of the population of the MIU. The empty areas are mostly governed by local forces, are populated by many Hyperlane networks which allow transit between the major worlds, and often contain life-giving planets that haven't reached the space age yet.

Kingdom of Saihera

Kingdom of Saihera The flag of the Kingdom of Saihera. Description The Kingdom of Saihera is the fourth largest nation in Florathel. It is the only nation exerting control over large sections of the Galactic Halo of Florathel, and it is very spread out because of the sparseness of stars in this region. Technically because of this, it is actually the largest nation in the galaxy by area, but no one uses that criterion these days. The Kingdom of Saihera is notably partially run by a monarchy, though this is almost entirely a figurehead with no power beyond Saihera and surrounds. Because of the extreme sparseness of systems, the Kingdom is notably underdeveloped, with many portions of its territory in crippling poverty. This has not stopped it from being the one of the most influential nations in the galaxy, with an event directly caused by it leading to the creation of the United Nations of Florathel. Capital The capital of the Kingdom of Saihera is the planet Dimostah, a desert world orbiting the red dwarf Saihera. Dimostah is very dry and almost lifeless other than non-native intelligent individuals, and is an ecumenopolis, with a population of over ten trillion. Dimostah is not the homeworld of the Kingdom's founding species, the Scargass, but was the major center of population after the supernova of their original home star, Tegerelis, which destroyed their original homeworld. This occured long before they gained the technology to stop supernovae, which forced them to evacuate to the relatively nearby Saihera System. Area The Kingdom of Saihera occupies a large amount of the sparse Galactic halo, a feat achieved by no other nation with the debatable exception of the Pecay-Po Federation of Nalachi. Because of the sparseness of the Galactic Halo, the Kingdom must be very decentralized, with those on the outer reaches being effected very little by what happens in the heartlands. Apart from its vast claims in the Halo, the Kingdom of Saihera controls very little in the galactic disk itself, apart from small regions colonized in the Providence Neutral Zone. The Kingdom of Saihera does however control a portion of the Rapier Ring, which it holds relatively tighter than the surrounding regions because of its higher density.

Free Nation of Garrea

Free Nation of Garrea The flag of the Free Nation of Garrea. Description The Free Nation of Garrea is the fifth largest UNFG nation in area, located in the Inner Elerad Arm of Florathel. It is also one of the latest members of the UNFG, only joining in 99874. The Free Nation of Garrea, because of its great influence, however, was quite rapidly admitted to the UNFG security council, the decision passing in one of the landmark decisions of 99999. However, before it was admitted, the FNG was a tumultuous region, with nationalists and separatists fighting for control and trying to secede and conquer and so on. This is why it took so long to admit this nation to the UNFG, and some of these factions still exist in hiding. Luckily, today the nation is much calmer, and is now home to many influential characters in the UNFG. Capital The capital of the Free Nation of Garrea is the planet Garrea, a tidally locked world in orbit around the red dwarf Dorok. No one is entirely sure where Garrea is, as its location needed to be hidden to protect it from the violent factions in the nation's past. Because of a botched press release, the location that was told to everyone was in way the wrong place, in the Milkdrop Nebula, over a thousand light-years from its actual location. Garrea is a thriving world with a dense ecosystem, and most of the population lives on special orbital rings constructed around the planet. Area The Free Nation of Garrea is a highly centralized government, with only a few separately governed regions. The FNG controls the majority of the Inner Elerad Arm, all the way up to (almost) the Treana Nebula itself. The FNG also controls a region of space in the Elerad Arm, centered on the planet Aldar. Aldar and surrounds are treated almost as a closely allied but separate nation and the FNG is often referred to as "two entirely separate nations under one banner".

Queendom of Tancred

Queendom of Tancred The flag of the Queendom of Tancred. Description The Queendom of Tancred is a powerful member nation of the UNFG located in the Inner Paleas Arm of Florathel. It borders the Marakat Interstellar Union, the Mankalan Coalition, the Federation of Kaurim, and the Cluelflago Entente. The Queendom of Tancred is partially run by a monarchy, though this is mostly a figurehead with most governing done by Parliament. Capital Tancred is the capital of the Queendom of Tancred, and the planet that gave the nation its name. Civilization on this world is over 100 millennia old, and there are endless centuries worth of ancient ruins to study, even on this thriving modern planet. Tancred orbits within the binary Ravres System, the second most populous system of the nation. After the conclusion of Kalera's War, Tancred was in ruins, and a massive influx of money from the Galactic Bank of Florathel (an institution created by the UNFG) was needed to rebuild. Even today, the rebuilding is not complete. Area The territory of the Queendom of Tancred is fully within the Inner Paleas arm of Florathel. It is split into seven territories, each of which containing a regional capital. Places like the Jatras System (where Zakha is located) and Draikash are administrated separately from the seven territories, and the capital of Tancred is considered to be in a separate territory.

Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune

Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune The flag of the Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune. Description The Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune (shortened to FTIC) is a democratic federation located within the Mid Frealee Arm of the Frolira Galaxy. It is bordered by the Marakat Interstellar Union, the Mankalan Coalition and the Trezhath. Containing approximately forty billion billion star systems, it is one of the larger nations within the United Nations of Florathel and a member of the security council. Capital Due to the nation being originally founded by a union between two species, the Frolira-Tuar Interstellar Commune correspondingly has two capitals, Frolira and Tuar. Frolira Frolira is one of the capitals of the FTIC, and is the more conservative of them. It has a remarkably low surface population for a capital world, and as such has most of its ancestral ecosystem intact. Frolira, orbiting a red dwarf, is tidally locked. As such, its night side is covered in kilometers of ice, although the inhabitants are working to melt the ice and terraform the dark side of the planet. Frolira is the homeworld of the Talamats, one of the founding species of the FTIC. Despite its incredibly low surface population, the population within its hill sphere is very densely packed, with many orbital rings and such a large number of habitation cylinders that average distances between them are less than ten kilometers. Tuar Tuar is an extremely cold world orbiting the red dwarf Mizadan, and is the homeworld of the Kareliss. It is the legislative and judicial capital of the FTIC, and has a much higher surface population than its partner Frolira. Tuar is home to exotic oceans on its day side made of methane, ethane, and other hydrocarbons, making for exotic life. Tuar has many orbital rings surrounding it, allowing for easy transfer from the surface to orbit. Due to its exotic surface conditions, many carbon-based species are surprised by the existence of a thriving species here, despite the fact that intelligent species originating from planets such as Tuar are just as common as those from water worlds. Probably subconscious water chauvinism at work. Area The FTIC is divided rather arbitrarily into a total of 27 large States. These states are each divided into four quadrants, each of which is divided into a series of small sectors. These sectors constitute most of local government. The region around Frolira and Tuar is not in any state, instead being its own Capital District. The area surrounding Lyxis is similarly not in any state. Interestingly, for judicial purposes, the nation is divided into 31 districts completely unrelated to the 27 states, which are then similarly divided into quadrants and sectors.

Pecay-Po Federation of Nalachi

Pecay-Po Federation of Nalachi The flag of the Pecay-Po Federation of Nalachi. Description The Pecay-Po Federation of Nalachi, often referred to as simply Nalachia (though this is strongly discouraged by citizens of this nation) or abbreviated to PPFN, is a major nation located in the Nalachi Cluster, and some small embassies in Florathel's disk. Formerly, the Nalachi Cluster encompassed much of Florathel, but it regressed into a period of isolationism, preferring to heavily develop its core territories, long before the modern era. The PPFN is primarily noted for its extreme level of megastructures located in its territory, and a formerly extremely isolationist nature, though it is now opening up to outside nations and has recently joined the United Nations of Florathel. Capital The PPFN, notably, has three capitals, Nalachi, Devoro, and Ta'Koro. The former two are normal planets, and the third is in fact a small birch planet with a huge concentration of population. Nalachi Nalachi is a parched, scorched world orbiting a red dwarf star. Only the terminator is habitable, and as such it has a relatively lower population to other planets. Nalachi is the homeworld of the Elkeres, the elder founding species of the PPFN, and some individuals wish to terraform the subsolar region and night side of the planet to vastly increase the holding capacity. Nalachi is surrounded by many orbital rings, where the vast majority of the population lives. These rings create a sort of hazy look at low resolution images, causing confusion in initial sneaky surveys from some of Florathel nations. Devoro Devoro is a very cold world, orbiting a gas giant which orbits a blue straggler star located near Nalachi. Devoro is utterly lifeless and airless upon the surface, but the subglacial ocean beneath the blue-tinted ice is teeming with life. There are vast cities hidden under the ice shell, which probably qualify on a list of Wonders of the Universe, should anyone care to compile one. Devoro has a higher population than Nalachi by virtue of its more hospitable conditions in more areas. The Deviri, the younger founding species of the nation, have melted holes in the ice to allow for easy coming and going, and a common game is warping to a random point above the moon and trying to point out all the little holes. Ta'Koro Ta'Koro, also known as the Great Sphere, is a relatively small birch planet found by early explorers of the PPFN in the very early days of expansion. It is unknown who built it, but at the time it was extremely ruined with some sections of it completely gone and most of the atmosphere drained away. However, it was rebuilt and is now the most populous site in Florathel. Ta'Koro has a huge population of roughly half that of the entire nation, and it is so diverse and huge compared to regular planets that its almost impossible to map. Area The PPFN is restricted almost entirely to the Nalachi Cluster, as of now, and is extremely centralized to its three capitals. For convenience and efficiency, the Cluster is divided into ten shells, each with different numbers of star systems. These shells are little more than administrative divisions, and not many people outside of government really care.
