The system is most notable for its two major planets, Carlea and Saleas, which outshine all others in the system in fame and population. Currently, there are eleven planetary bodies in the Cnara System, with the majority, six, around the primary of Raea. |

The Cnara System, being a distant binary, has two distinct planetary systems. The first, the one surrounding Raea, seven planets, Coros, Trada, Kralean, Saleas, Virelask, Noleas, and Turosar. The second contains five planets, Pyre, Selfar, Carlea, Myra, and Sarelle. Beyond both stars lies a sparse cloud of various comets, debris, dwarf planets, etc, known as the Limit Cloud. The limit cloud contains one major planet, known as Keitar. Many stations which, combined, hold a significant fraction of the population of the Cnara System, hold varied orbits all throughout the system. |

Raea is the primary star of the Cnara System. Before Raea begun its transformation into a red giant, its system was even more preposterously huge. Besides the seven modern worlds, there existed at least two, possibly more planets which orbited beneath Coros. Alas, they are today either completely gone or in varying stages of being melted by the rarified plasma of Raea. A small ice belt surrounds the star, and all the icy objects with in it are functionally comets. This creates a beautiful, if understated ring of icy plumes streaming out from the star. |
||
=== History === |
|||
Raea was formed as an F-type main sequence star around 6 billion years ago from a long since dissipated nebula. Like most stars, it was surrounded by a protoplanetary disk in its early days, which began to form planets. However, once Raea reached the end of the main sequence, it expanded into a red giant, destroying several planets and fundamentally changing all the others. |

Maea is a main sequence M-class star, located far inside Florathel in the Cnara System. It is currently the most populous star of Illuin and third most populous star of the United Nations of the Florathel. There are numerous colonial outposts and stations around the star and on its planetary bodies, including asteroids and moons. Maea has five planets in its influence. |
||
===History=== |
|||
Maea formed around 3.2 billion years ago in a long-since-dissipated nebula. For a few million years after it formed, it had a large disk around it, which formed many protoplanets, including Pyre and Carlea. However, most of the protoplanets collided with each other, fell into the sun, or got ejected from the system, which left only five bodies to remain in its midst. |
|||
Out of all the worlds in the system, only Carlea and Azelis (one of the major moons of Sarelle) had all the essential ingredients to initiate the development and evolution of life within the water oceans. While Azelis' life could only stay within its subglacial oceans, Carlea's lifeforms migrated onto land relatively rapidly. The life on Carlea soon evolved to intelligence and founded the Cnara-Frealee Federation with their neighbors in the Frealee System. |

The life on Carlea soon evolved to intelligence and founded the Cnara-Frealee Federation with their neighbors in the Frealee System. |
||
====Projected future==== |
|||
In roughly 1.5 trillion years, Maea will begin leaving the main sequence and turn into a blue dwarf. As it increases in luminosity, it will heat up Carlea. Eventually without intelligent intervention, its oceans will evaporate and all life on its surface will die. As it nears the end of its life, Maea will expand greatly, then collapse into a white dwarf, its habitable zone shrinking beneath the orbit of Selfar. It will slowly cool as the stars die around it, until it is fully thermalized and floats through the endless night. |

Coros is currently the first planetary body from Raea, and is a sunblasted lava world orbiting alarmingly close to the surface of Raea. Coros, once known as Rathelis, is known for being the homeworld of the extinct Corvelmar. As such, it was the capital of the ancient Rukelian Empire, which was destroyed by the Woni. While Vijaya reclaimed the system from the wanderers, the planet was glassed beyond recognition. In the time of the Corvelmar, Coros was an artfully maintained, lush world hidden from the baleful light of the ever expanding Raea. When the Woni destroyed the planet's ancient shielding, the temperature quickly rose to where it to the equilibrium, making quick work of whoever was left after the Woni's bombardment. Today, Coros' oceans run orange with molten rock as the crust slowly breaks open under the pounding light of Raea, with few traces of the Rukelian Empire or the Corvelmar remaining. |

Trada is currently the second planet orbiting Raea. In its day, almost three hundred thousand years ago, it was a key world of the Rukelian Empire. Shielded by ancient constructs just as Coros was, it was a cool, rusted planet with large ice caps, with obviously artificial canyons criss-crossing its surface. While the planet is barren today, much of the shielding apparatus still exists and is being studied by modern scientists. The atmosphere is gone, and certainly its life has been pushed off the brink into extinction, but much of the ruins on the planetary surface are in perfect condition. As it was uninhabited by the time of the Lareas Alliance, the Swarm of Andvaris bypassed the planet on its long rampages through Cosmoria, and Trada is thus the largest trove of historical knowledge about this long-past era before Andvaris and the Dark Times. |

Kralean is the third planet in the Raea system. In the time of the Rukelian Empire, it was a hot, steamy waterworld, not needing the bizarre shielding apparatus floating above it. Today, its surface is trapped under two hundred standard atmospheres of pressure, the equivalent of having over three thousand elephants standing on every square inch of your body. Because of this extreme pressure, any remaining material on the surface cannot even evaporate, resulting in the formation of a layer of "hot ice". This means that even today, not a single individual has touched the surface of Kralean since its environmental collapse. |

Despite this, there are millions of people living in cities floating in the white clouds connected by various flying vehicles and even vast bridges. The population of these cities is roughly five hundred million individuals all gazing at the endless clouds. These cities aren't just houses. Specialized instruments that the population coalesced around are slowly stripping the nitrogen and carbon dioxide off of Kralean, potentially opening up the possibility of terraforming. The planet's two moons are well-furnished with population and industry. |

Saleas is the fourth planet in the Raea system, and a former moon of the gas giant Virelask. Saleas is the home of the Salakela species, and capital of Saw-Yos. Hundreds of thousands of years ago, Saleas and its moon Heleas were both similar icelocked waterworlds, fully covered in a thick crust of ice. They were melted by the arrival of the Terakela colonies in the outer system, the population of which later diverged into the Salakela in the subtly different environment of Saleas. Today, Saleas is an icy world with vast gaps between the ice, where the water shows through into the surface. Its tiny moons Paea and Fras both exhibit large populations, and the Providence Union-built construct of Eknar's Ring was widely considered as one of the few things that the Union actually did for its outlying territories. |

Virelask is the fifth planet and first gas giant in the Raea system. Virelask is the largest planet in the entire Cnara System, and contains seven major moons and untold numbers of minor ones in its orbit. Its sphere of influence holds enormous numbers of people of all species in its orbit, in vast arrays of habitats and satellites. Similar to Kralean, Virelask holds billions of people in floating cities above the inflated orange cloud tops. The vast population creates major cultural variation, and the chaotic weather formations make communication more difficult than otherwise, exaggerating this variant effect. |

Noleas, the seventh planet of Raea, is the largest solid object in the system. A massive ice-covered terrestrial planet orbiting in the wide gap between Virelask and Turosar, Noleas is a major population center in the Cnara System. Its surface and sphere of influence is home to both Kalar and Salakela colonies, making its surface and moon system split between Cnara-Frealee and Saw-Yos. Its moon of Terubis has a number of ancient ruins resting dead upon its surface, dating from all across history |
|||
Turosar is the final planet which directly orbits Raea, and has remained much the same since its formation. Turosar is what is known as a "gas dwarf" world, which is a planet on the low end of gaseous planet sizes, and it orbits near the beginning of the Limit Cloud, which means that it has an outsize number of minor moons for its size and distance. Turosar likely formed closer in and was ejected by Virelask, and its two major moons were likely captured as well, destroying any original moon family. Turosar does not have a very large population, and it's mostly ignored on the interstellar stage. |

Turosar is the final planet which directly orbits Raea, and has remained much the same since its formation. Turosar is not large, but its enormous distance from Raea allows it to retain a huge array of captured asteroids. Turosar likely formed closer in and was ejected by Virelask in the geologic past. Its two major moons of Theletma and Taisel were likely two members of a binary of some sort, captured into orbit late in the formation of the Cnara System. Due to the planet's extreme cold and distance, organic beings tend to leave it alone, leaving its freezing wastes to the uploaded population. |

Keitar is the most distant planet in the entire system, orbiting almost five hundred AU away from the barycenter of Raea and Maea. Because of this, Keitar is very dark, has an exceedingly long orbital period, and has only three thousand people on the planet and its surroundings. Because of Keitar's distance, it was only discovered after the invention of the infrared telescope and languished in obscurity for centuries before it was used as a black site by the Providence Union. The planet was devastated during the War of the Last Alliance, and today lies abandoned. |

Pyre is the innermost and hottest planet orbiting Maea. Pyre is partially covered in lava, and has no moons. Despite its exceedingly high temperatures (upwards of 1200º K), it has silicon-based life on its surface! This may be somehow related to the bizarre life on Gohbrin or possibly the ancient Norlins of the Moridian High Command, and so the planet has great archaeological import. Because of these exceedingly high temperatures, it is extremely difficult to establish large-scale long-term habitation on the planetary surface, with most colonies being on stilts with mirrored surfaces reflecting away the pounding sunlight. |

Selfar is the second planet orbiting Maea, and is shrouded a very thick, opaque atmosphere. Due to this, the planet is covered mainly in extremely pressurized and heated oceans of molten sulfur. Selfar's pressurized oceans are populated by a variety of extremophilic, single-celled life which appears to be endemic to the planet, unrelated to other trees of life. The vast majority of the planetary population is based in floating cities above the clouds, where conditions are actually the most similar to Carlea in the entire Maea system. The cities were originally created to hold infrastructure to strip away the crushing atmosphere, but today have expanded to hold large populations above the gleaming white clouds. |

Cnara System
The Cnara System is a major star system near the Heart of Providence in Florathel composed of two stars, Raea and Maea. The system is most notable for its two major planets, Carlea and Saleas, which outshine all others in the system in fame and population. Currently, there are eleven planetary bodies in the Cnara System, with the majority, six, around the primary of Raea.
Architecture

Maea
Maea is a main sequence M-class star, located far inside Florathel in the Cnara System. It is currently the most populous star of Illuin and third most populous star of the United Nations of the Florathel. There are numerous colonial outposts and stations around the star and on its planetary bodies, including asteroids and moons. Maea has five planets in its influence.
Planets - Raea

Trada has one asteroid moon:

Kralean has two moons:

Saleas has three natural satellites:

Virelask is the fifth planet and first gas giant in the Raea system. Virelask is the largest planet in the entire Cnara System, and contains seven major moons and untold numbers of minor ones in its orbit. Its sphere of influence holds enormous numbers of people of all species in its orbit, in vast arrays of habitats and satellites. Similar to Kralean, Virelask holds billions of people in floating cities above the inflated orange cloud tops. The vast population creates major cultural variation, and the chaotic weather formations make communication more difficult than otherwise, exaggerating this variant effect.
Virelask has seven major moons:

Noleas, the seventh planet of Raea, is the largest solid object in the system. A massive ice-covered terrestrial planet orbiting in the wide gap between Virelask and Turosar, Noleas is a major population center in the Cnara System. Its surface and sphere of influence is home to both Kalar and Salakela colonies, making its surface and moon system split between Cnara-Frealee and Saw-Yos. Its moon of Terubis has a number of ancient ruins resting dead upon its surface, dating from all across history
Noleas has four major moons:
Donus
Bosinda
Terubis
Umbura

Turosar is the final planet which directly orbits Raea, and has remained much the same since its formation. Turosar is not large, but its enormous distance from Raea allows it to retain a huge array of captured asteroids. Turosar likely formed closer in and was ejected by Virelask in the geologic past. Its two major moons of Theletma and Taisel were likely two members of a binary of some sort, captured into orbit late in the formation of the Cnara System. Due to the planet's extreme cold and distance, organic beings tend to leave it alone, leaving its freezing wastes to the uploaded population.
Turosar has two major moons:

The Limit Cloud is the official name for the clouds of comets and other debris extending over a light-year from the central star. The Limit Cloud contains several dwarf planets, some of which contain populations of hundreds of thousands of people, as well as the distant world of Keitar.
The deep freeze of the Limit Cloud is often use to make computing processes more efficient, so many virtual reality computers are located here.
The Limit Cloud contains billions of comets and thousands of dwarf planets. Only the most major are listed here:

Keitar is the most distant planet in the entire system, orbiting almost five hundred AU away from the barycenter of Raea and Maea. Because of this, Keitar is very dark, has an exceedingly long orbital period, and has only three thousand people on the planet and its surroundings. Because of Keitar's distance, it was only discovered after the invention of the infrared telescope and languished in obscurity for centuries before it was used as a black site by the Providence Union. The planet was devastated during the War of the Last Alliance, and today lies abandoned.
Planets - Maea

Carlea is the fourth planet around Maea. A lush terrestrial planet with life filling its vast oceans and small continents, it is the homeworld of the Kalar species, the second most populous planet of the United Nations of the Florathel, and one of the two capitals of Cnara-Frealee. Because it is the homeworld of the Kalar, the most populous branch of the Isra Tree, Carlea has a very diverse culture, which has helped lend it even more fame throughout all of Florathel.

Myra is the fourth planet of the Maea System, and the second smallest. Myra is an ice-locked world that has been cloaked in that ice since it was formed. Upon close investigation, the planet contains vast networks of tunnels running through the ice, to various huge hollows filled with ruins ancient beyond reckoning. Some of them have been dated to before even the Moridian High Command. No one knows who built the cities, their smooth, metallic curves untarnished by the eons, and we may never know.
Myra holds three moons in relatively low orbit around it:

Sarelle is the largest and last of the worlds of Maea. As of the present day, it and its 31 moons are home to 800 million inhabitants, the vast majority of which are Kalar and Analar. Sarelle was the first world colonized by the Kalar, after they first ventured in to space. Because of this, Sarelle and its moons have cultures almost as diverse as Carlea itself, and the inhabitants of the planet hold quite a lot of sway over events in the Cnara System and surrounds.
The moons of Masran and Dorion is the site of ancient colonies of the long-dead Moridian High Command, their populations wiped out by whatever destroyed their parent nation. They are among the most well-preserved of such archaeological sites, and lack the dangerous conditions surrounding such places as the Erinor System and Ikalas. Azelis plays host to the Tomed, a very low-population branch of the Terakela Tree which arrived there in the time of Erlas.
Sarelle has 31 moons, four of which are major:
