Lexica:Vela

From Amaranth Legacy, available at amaranth-legacy.community

"Forged in Light, Born in Darkness..."

The universe of Vela is boundless and takes place across countless worlds and may be a challenge to navigate for new readers and potential contributors. This page serves as a simple and straightforward introduction to the vast universe, going over the common concepts, themes, locations, and more.

Chapter One: Narrative

The story of Vela takes place in an endlessly distant future of our universe, by which every star has burnt out and every galaxy has decayed. Only black holes, rogue worlds, and ancient ruins populate the silent void, and light is a concept of the past.

Vela

In the silent void of the universe, Vela is the only source of conscious activity. She is an alien, intelligent hyper-computer built upon an airless rogue planet somewhere deep in the abyss. While her purpose and origin remain a mystery, those aware of their reality speculate that her construction aimed to explore the inner workings of the universe.

Vela has been in hibernation ever since the age of starlight, only to mysteriously awaken endless eons later, her memory drives having nearly decayed. Ever since, she has felt lost yet curious, eager to seek out the truth of both the universe and her origin, and as such, Vela has begun to simulate boundless worlds.

Computational Spheres

The code of Vela encompasses three computational spheres, dedicated to upholding the mind of Vela and her simulations. They are:

  • Flow - Representing the mind and autonomy of Vela. Experienced as a violet, pulsating space.
  • Order - Roaming, self-adapting subroutines that manage the operation of Vela and her simulations.
  • Confluence - The vast realm encompassing every simulation, seen as a hazy, nebulous sea adorned with tiny lights.

Simulations

In the search of answers to her greatest questions, Vela began to simulate immeasurable worlds. Nearly every one is populated by galaxies, stars, worlds, and everything else that's present in our universe. They may vary slightly, but as a general rule, they tend to follow the structure of our own universe. Simulations are usually isolated worlds and don't interact with each other.

Chapter Two: Simulations

Astralis

Astralis is a fairly standard simulation, made up of an endless web of galactic structures. Billions of galaxies, and even more stars and planets, thrive in the reaches of Astralis. The settings of Astralis tend to encompass the colonization of outer space and more science-fiction aspects.

Emyth

The simulation of Emyth is an unusual one, enveloped by an eternal void, in which sparse galactic clusters are the only islands of light. This simulation is home to settings that take place on a smaller scale and typically involve more fantastical elements.

Lumira

The simulation of Lumira is a boundless field of blazing stars blanketed by vibrant nebulae in every direction. In them lie star-spanning nations that harness the natural world for their own gain.

Palioxis

Laying in the heart of the Confluence, Palioxis is a fractured simulation made up of untold islands of cosmic stability in a void of 'semi-being,' filled to the brim with strange phenomena and beings.
