The Astrobiont (Xenobium spitzbergensis) is an extraterrestrial pathogen known to cause yellow lung disease on humans. First contracted in the island of Spitsbergen on August 16th, 1941, it spread into an enormous portion of Europe and North Africa following its discovery, with World War II greatly helping it do so.
