The Saurian Revolution was a liberation movement that occurred only a few years after the Great Progenitor-Hominid War, during which species created by the Progenitors, primarily Saurians and Dragonborne, fought against the diminished Progenitor population to gain freedom. This violent and bloody conflict ultimately left the Progenitor species extinct.

History

Prelude

In 18,013 BCE, the Great Progenitor-Hominid War came to an end with a crushing defeat for the Progenitors, with their empire fragmenting and up to 80% of their pre-war population dead. Several slave revolts also occurred at around the same time causing the formation of the Provisional Saurian Reclamation Government in Weepria, which quickly grew to contain hundreds of millions of citizens. The PSRG was very well equipped militarily, possessing a large amount of commandeered equipment, along with Progenitor equipment that was captured by the Denisovans; who gave a lot of it to the PSRG.

The War

In 18,010, the PSRG, officially declared total war on Progenitor Civilization. On the day of the declaration itself, tens of thousands of missiles were launched from Weepria towards the few Progenitor cities that remained. The Progenitor death toll on the first day was in the hundreds of thousands. Next the PSRG used chemical and biological weapons on Progenitor population centers, causing the number of deaths to increase exponentially. After this, the PSRG began a conquest of all remaining Progenitor land. The soldiers of the PSRG were instructed to raise every Progenitor settlement, and to show no mercy to anyone. Mercy was labelled to be treason. First they destroyed Beringsville, then Glacia, then Steppe City, Caspia, and finally Zethelia. The ruins of these cities and their surrounding areas were occupied for several months in order to deal with any Progenitors that may have survived the attacks.

Aftermath

Following the PSRG's victory, the government disbanded, leaving the surviving creations of the Progenitors to fend for themselves.

Impact

The Denisova, upon hearing about the Progenitors being wiped out, initially planned to wipe out the Saurians and others, fearing they were too violent and dangerous. Many were horrified but blamed the current government at the time for wiping out so much of the Progenitor populace. The resulting political unrest resulted in the Denisovan species resigning themselves to extinction
