This content is a part of Borealis Universe.

The Amatria-Artria Group is a prominent intergalactic region consisting of the Amatria and Artria galaxies, along with surrounding minor satellite galaxies. This area is defined by its rich history of galactic conflict, cultural evolution, and significant contributions to the broader Borealis Cluster dynamics. The region is notable for hosting advanced civilizations, including the Amatrian Galactic Spherium (AGS) and the Artrian Galactic Republic, both of which have played central roles in shaping intergalactic politics and warfare.

Overview

The Amatria-Artria Group consists of several galaxies, the most notable being:

  • Amatria from outside its borders
Amatria (NGC 300): A spiral galaxy 6.7 million light-years from the Milky Way, under Orcian control via the AGS.
  • Artria: A neighboring galaxy with a rich history governed by the Artrian Galactic Republic.

The group is linked by wormhole networks pioneered by the Orcians, facilitating intergalactic trade, exploration, and warfare. Despite long-standing periods of peace, the region remains a hotspot of tension due to historical conflicts and expanding ambitions.

History

Early Civilizations

The Amatria galaxy was first conquered approximately 175,000 years ago by an advanced but now-extinct species that succumbed to an economic collapse. The region remained unclaimed until the Orcians emerged as the dominant power. Their invention of the Wormhole Drive in 1,000 CE allowed them to launch intergalactic probes, expanding their influence.

The Artria galaxy, under the governance of the Artrian Galactic Republic, developed its own centralized civilization led by the Untoa.

Amatria-Artria Wars

The Amatria-Artria Wars were pivotal conflicts that defined the region's history:

  1. First Amatria-Artria War (9,982 CE–9,993 CE): Sparked by the destruction of Orcian probes in Artria, this brutal 11-year conflict resulted in a billion combined casualties. It ended with the Juline Treaty, establishing a fragile peace.
  2. Second Amatria-Artria War (10,010 CE - 10,042 CE): Renewed hostilities emerged, fueled by lingering distrust and territorial disputes.

Both wars cemented the Amatria-Artria Group's reputation as a region of intense intergalactic tension.

Intergalactic Conflicts

First Intergalactic War (13,129 CE–13,231 CE)

Both Amatria and Artria were key participants in this century-long conflict involving the Confederacy of Humanity and other Borealis Cluster powers. The war reshaped galactic alliances and culminated in the Triste Treaty, fostering new intergalactic cooperation.

Second Intergalactic War (14,022 CE - 14,220 CE)

Amatria's leadership spearheaded a massive military buildup that destabilized the Local Group for centuries, culminating in the rise of new powers and the Amatrian Revolution.

Grovat-Orcian Wars

The Gorvat-Orcian Wars were a series of intense conflicts between the Gorvat Empire and the Amatrian Galactic Spherium (AGS), largely stemming from territorial disputes in the Messier 82 galaxy. These wars were instrumental in shaping intergalactic power dynamics and revealed the increasing military and political tensions between the two advanced civilizations.

  1. First Gorvat-Orcian War:
    • A relatively minor conflict, arising from mutual distrust and border tensions.
    • Concluded without a decisive victory, leaving unresolved territorial disputes and deep-seated animosity between the two powers.
  2. Second Gorvat-Orcian War:
    • Sparked by a territorial dispute in Messier 82, where Orcian starfighter scouts unknowingly entered Gorvat-controlled space. The resulting skirmish escalated into a full-blown war.
    • Characterized by prolonged starfighter dogfights, large-scale bombardments, and strategic ground invasions.
    • Culminated in the atomic bombing of a Gorvat colony, which killed nearly 100 million civilians. This devastating strike forced the Gorvat Empire to surrender and cede 100 of their colonies to the AGS, marking a decisive Orcian victory.
  3. Third Gorvat-Orcian War:
    • Initiated by the Gorvats, following years of Orcian expansion and aggressive military posturing.
    • Despite initial Gorvat advances, the AGS ultimately suffered a rare defeat, driven back from contested territories. This conflict destabilized the region, laying the groundwork for broader wars, including the Fourth Intergalactic War.
