From Amaranth Legacy, available at amaranth-legacy.community

THE JEWEL OF LONGING EYES
This content takes place in the Ambrosia setting of Imagindarium's Creation.

At last;with a voice that echoed beyond stars and silence,
the Key to End’s Sovereignty sang its assent.
And so, beneath the weight of sacred doom,
Hope was unmade.
Life was called to stillness.
And all that danced in the light was summoned to end —
to make way for the Age that follows after All.

Overview

The Prologuian End, also known as the Third-Night, Void War, the Great Inomeni War, and Dyad's Fall was a prolonged conflict between the united Dyad Powers of the Isariel and Seraphnim against the omnipotent Void of Antaroth. Waged in the final decades of Dyad Rule Era; the culminating battle would cost innumerable souls, ultimately concluding at the end of 70,000 TI (Time Immemorial) with the creation and activation of the "Finality" superweapon which purged the galaxy of all immortal life in order to stop the Void. It is named in reference to its position in galactic history; serving as the most concrete and definable "end" of Ambrosia's "prologue" in the poetic sense; for it was thereafter made into the final dominant state which would characterize all of Ambrosia then-on.

The Prologuian End would stand as the single deadliest conflict in universal history until the outbreak of the War for the Right to Life of 167 EE. (Ends Emergence) It stands as one of only two wars to be waged on a theater which encompassed the entire galaxy, as the war was felt equally no matter the region of space in question. It was through this conflict that nearly all immortal Inomeni life would be extinguished from the stars forevermore.

Summary

The Void War began following the creation and subsequent breaching of the Void of Antaroth; an immensely powerful Serranic entity crafted from the residual contempt against all Creation once harbored by the Father of All Darkness: Vuhlore-Antaroth. At the end of the Great Age Typhonia, prior to the formation of now-finite Ambrosia, Vuhlore-Antaroth would be cast adrift within the Void of Totality; above and beyond the reach of coherent reality. The Remnant of his infinite hatred would be harnessed by the progenitor of all conflict and contrast: the Great Unifier; utilizing it as the medium in which to create a self-contradictory amorphous force to wipe clean the slate of Ambrosia, an act committed in service to the Line to the End.

This force formed into what would be known as the "Void of Antaroth;" in-reference to both from where it was spawned, and the distinct lacking of it now inhabited. From an inherent madness born from its paradoxical nature of being; the Void of Antaroth would seek to consume all outwardly expressed identity and individuality across the whole of Ambrosia. Using its self-replicatory state of being, the shadowed-mass would forcibly subsume into its extant absence all coherent beings that stood in its way.

In the face of total destruction; the former warring parties of the Isariel and Seraphnim were forced into a tense alliance, further uniting all Inomeni kind less they face shared extinction. However; despite forming a now united-front, the Inomeni were ultimately outmatched, with their defeat being swift and brutal.

The war would come to end following the activation of "Finality;" an all-powerful construct crafted by the Golden Sovereign of the Seraphnim: Serranna. This weapon, utilizing Alizarin, the force of all finitude, forced the aforementioned Source from its until-then dormant state into active and infinite expression across the whole of Ambrosia. Unable to contend with the sheer crushing weight of finite limitation, both the Void of Antaroth, and all Inomeni would be instantly eradicated from Ambrosia, with their shared Remnant sundered into conceptual fragments.

This act — while ushering in their own doom — was made in the hopes for new life now rended mortal by Alizarin could come to fruition free from the threat posed by the Void. This would eventually prove true in the millennia following the end of Inomeni reign, as the mortal Alizarani would rise and thrive across Ambrosia for the remainder of time.

Combatants

The exact belligerents of the Great Inomeni War, when one is speaking in specifics, is rather dense and large due to the sheer scale of the conflict; with all sentient life extant at the time forced into the front against the onrushing tide of total death. Regardless; the immense battle can be categorized into two primary opposing forces: The Void of Antaroth itself and the whole of all Inomeni life.

The Prologuian End, perhaps more than any other war in history, was a clear "us versus them" sort of affair; though in this instance, it would be more apt to say "it" rather than "them." As a result; motivations remained coherent a consistent all throughout, likely making it the lone time in all history where all peoples were — more or less — in total agreement and peace with one another.

Void of Antaroth

- MAIN ARTICLE: "Void of Antaroth"

The initiator and aggressor of the Third-Night; the Void of Antaroth was the lone force rising in genocidal madness against the whole of all life, regardless of kind. As it acted more as a cleansing agent rather than an organized group or thinking individual, its purpose and reasons for initiating the Prologuian End was one of a calculated and brutal focus; utterly unable and unwilling to ever be reasoned, negotiated, or threatened into submission by its enemies; for only its total destruction would bring its self-destined galactic holocaust to an end.

The greatest advantage the Void of Antaroth possessed in its campaign was its total amorphous nature; able to equally manifest itself practically endlessly across infinite distance, although to fulfill its set role, said manifesting would be methodical and precise. Its abilities of self-replication was due to its inherently contradictory nature. As it was simultaneously extant and extinguished, it meant it was equally able to outwardly express in active existence and instantly fade into utter absence a mere moment after. As a result; the central "matrix" of the Void of Antaroth remained free from any threat or danger that the Inomeni forces could muster against it, making their resistance efforts by and large meaningless.

Most often; the Void of Antaroth would combat the Inomeni by manifesting on the surface of multiple worlds at once in the form of a large gelatinous blob of leaking black ink or ooze, then ambulating itself at great speeds. Once coming into contact with a sentient, blackened tendrils would shoot from the mass and forcibly merge the individual into itself, causing their body to be shredded apart and absorbed into the Void's whole.

After the consumption of a sentient being, it would most often then vomit forth a figure adopting the vague approximate appearance of the former being in question, albeit one that also adopts its darkened exterior. These figures would then act in a fashion similar to the original mass that spewed it, though it would have to first subdue its victim in combat before absorbing them into itself; capable also of exhuming a second hostile figure from itself to do the same.

Ascendant of Those Ungrateful

- MAIN ARTICLE: "Ascendant of Those Ungrateful"

One of the two primary forces raised in opposition against the Void of Antaroth; the Ascendant of Those Ungrateful was the sovereign domain of Juno: eternal Godqueen of the Isariel, containing all space "west" of the Amaranth Veil. Their empire would face numerous assaults by the Void, having been caught completely unaware. Initially hesitant to form an alliance with their Seraphnim rivals, the Isariel and their subjects would later be forced to seek them as allies as world after world of theirs fell to the all-powerful tide of nothing.

The Ascendant forces were often the first to face any emergent Void in a head-on assault. The Isariel in particular most often used the inherent and immense magical prowess contained within each of their number to subdue and destroy any significant strand of the Void; though said strand would always reemerge elsewhere. Though the battle ultimately proved fruitless, Juno and her followers would continue to launch frontal attacks against the Void whilst their Seraphnim allies began to pursuit alternative strategies. When total universal defeat stared the whole of the Inomeni's eye; Juno was unable to accept the inevitable demise, electing to continue to face the Void head-on till the very last fell to its tide.

Juno would discover her contemporary ruler, Serranna of the Seraphnim, had finalized plans for a secret self-determined — yet collective — galactic suicide strategy against the Void of Antaroth; seeking to ignite a death machine that would eradicate both it, and all Inomeni life in an instant. Repulsed at the notion, Juno would act in a lone-opposition; ultimately unable to accept the Sovereign's desire for a life to form in a galaxy post-Inomeni. She would venture to Serranna's "Finality" that would realize this mutual oblivion, engaging in combat against her most ardent defenders. Though Juno would easily prove victorious against them, she would be ultimately unable to stop Serranna, and thus the war against the Void of Antaroth would end with the destruction of all.

Sovereign-Concord

- MAIN ARTICLE: "Sovereign-Concord"

The Sovereign-Concord was one of the twin "Dyad Powers," with territory comprising all space "east" of the Amaranth Veil. It was controlled by the Seraphnim and their subject lesser-Inomeni. When the Void emerged within Ambrosia, it too was raised in opposition against it. This counter challenge was led by their ruler; Serranna, known to her subjects as the Golden Sovereign. Throughout the war; the Sovereign-Concord would engage in many direct confrontations with the Void, though they would ultimately lose each and ever encounter. They would later find themselves forced into an alliance with their long-time rivals, the Ungrateful Ascendancy of the Isariel; although the outcome of defeat remained constant.

As the prospect of victory against the Void grew to be an open impossibility; Serranna elected to dedicate the remainder of her time away from the front and instead in pursuit of any miracle device to either repel, or destroy their infinite foe. These attempts included several things; notable among them would be her creation of the Legate Eternal: a powerful Serranic entity tasked with the discovery of Vuhlore-Antaroth's own "Ring Sadistic;" an ancient construct the Father of Darkness once used to craft his terrible-will upon the face of Creation. However; the Legate's efforts would ultimately prove unsuccessful and was ordered instead to return to Serranna's side.

As the Void claimed near-total victory over the Inomeni, Serranna realized she had no other choice: she would have to unleash a mechanism she initially deemed too terrible to consider. Within her mind rested "Finality," an implement capable of rending nearly everything then-extant into total oblivion. By awakening the Source Alizarin — the representation of all that is finite — from its inert expression, she knew the consequences would be absolute. With Alizarin's reawakening, all eternal forces within Ambrosia would be destroyed in an instant, including the Void; however, the Inomeni would also be eradicated due to their immortal spirits unable to withstand the crushing weight of finitude.

To ensure that life might one day have a chance to arise again, Serranna secretly forged and unleashed Finality. Though her contemporary ruler, Juno, discovered her plan and attempted to intervene, Serranna ultimately proved successful; condemning all to die upon Finality’s blade to end the Void in a single moment; thus allowing the future Mortal life of Ambrosia she environed to come into being and later flourish.

Background

Throughout the galactic era of Dyad Rule; the sole Order of sentient life within Ambrosia was that of the Inomeni: the immortal "near-divine" progeny of the fully-divine Typhonians. Following the banishment of their creators from Ambrosia, the Inomeni would be the heir apparent in the new Amaranth Realm; with two of their number rising to the greatest of heights. The Ungrateful Ascendancy of the Isariel; ruled by the Godqueen Juno. And the Seraphnim's Concord; reigned by their Golden Sovereign — Serranna.

While an initial attempt of uniting the equal parties together was made by both rulers; they would ultimately be unable to compromise on irreconcilable differences in nearly all sectors; from governance, norm and culture; to faith and ontological understanding of the universe itself. These contrasting ideals would fester between the two races, and they would reach a boil when an open conflict began with the War of Cradle's Fall in 99,000 TI. Rather predictably, neither would be able to best the other, with nothing having been gained during the war, save further division amongst the Inomeni.

Following the cessation of open hostilities; they would remain at a stalemate of equal strength. the Ambrosia Galaxy would be partitioned in half in its entirety between the two omnipowers; thus forcing the rest of collective Inomeni to be made subjects of one or the other. This fragile balance of power would result in a prolonged cold war between the now christened Dyad Powers of Isariel and Seraphnim; one which would last tens of thousands of years across the remainder of Inomeni existence within Ambrosia.

While coming into open arms now and again in the years that followed; the outward face between the Dyad Powers was relatively peaceful. However behind the veil on either side, both were working toward the creation and procurement of arms and forces great enough to counter the other; waiting for the other to set the fuse to total galactic war. Though it would never come, as both Juno and Serranna subconsciously recognized neither would survive the clash.

Void in the Dark

Beyond the notice of the Dyad Powers, far and without from the whole of Ambrosia in the blackened Void of Totality lie in solitude its sole occupant; the Father of All Darkness, Vuhlore-Antaroth. In age prior to finite Ambrosia existed the infinite swath of Amaranth known as "Typhonia;" with its own respective denizens the Typhonians - creators of all Inomeni. It was in this time that Vuhlore-Antaroth would achieve the heights of omnipotence; gifted to him by the hand of his mentor —"Unity" — a title self-granted by the very creator of all conflict and contrast: the Great Unifier. While granted infinite power, Vuhlore was eternally denied the "End in Sight;" a gift granted instead to his elder brother, the first Golden SovereignVermeilaranth. The eternal denial of knowing the Line to the End would drive Vuhlore mad with envy and fury, and from his darkness would spark the longest and most destructive conflict ever known: the Typhonian War.

This battle of Darkness against Light would come to an end following Vuhlore-Antaroth's defeat at the hands of the mysterious "Lingering Light;" who would eternally banish Vuhlore into a state of unreality within the Void of Totality. Remaining cognoscente, yet unable to escape, Vuhlore's utter hatred for all existence festered into an even greater Darkness; one which lacked any medium to express itself and would thus remain internally congealed within his Remnant Spirit. Boling in solitude and screaming into the empty, Vuhlore-Antaroth fell into utter madness, losing all notion of individual identity unable to reconcile both his utter defeat, and his contradictory state of being and unbeing.

Beyond the reach of either reality and its absence stood in silent observance: the Great Unifier, as it had for all events prior. Reaching its hand through Vuhlore-Antaroth's very ontological marrow; the Great Unifier would pull from his Remnant the very Void of self-recursive agony an omnipresent force of internal contradiction. This force was further forced to catalyzed itself into a form in appearance as if one was doing their level-best to embody the inherent contradictory form of total absence; in that of a physical form of inky blackened mass with undetermined extent, presence, or potency.

Now divorced from the Remnant of Vuhlore; this Void of Antaroth would be forced to then grasp with the very nature of its contradictory nature, forcing it fall into a self-recursive madness similar in kind to its "father" it was willed into external being from. From this fury; the madness of irreconcilable grappling of the mentality of being both that which is, and that which is not, the Void of Antaroth would be made into that which the Great Unifier desired it to be: a force with the sole drive to snuff all outward expressing and coherent identity. Now left a flailing mass in its own state of ceaseless transitionary existence, the Great Unifier would send it towards the Amaranth Realm to fulfil its purpose in the Line to the End; the cleansing of the Inomeni age and usher in the coming of the next.

Emergence of the Void

Cast adrift from its birthplace; the Void of Antaroth would emerge in twin locales simultaneously. At opposite extremes on either side of the Amaranth Veil, its position was strategically chosen on two worlds; both of whom respectively deep in the heart of one of the Dyad Powers. On the Isariel front; the Void began to erupt from the grounds of the planet of Forevermore. Whilst to the Seraphnim, the planet of Neo-Eden would see its earth too crack and pour forth the shadowed mass of Void.

The initial breach of the Void caught both Powers unawares and many would fall to the Void's ceaseless hunger for identity; with tendrils of ink outlashing and entrapping any unfortunate enough to be near. The populations of both were then further subsumed into either the central matrix of its unbeing, or birthed into new acreative horrors; ambulated and now too driven mad by the crushing weight of contradictory existence.

On both worlds the respective military stationed held little success against this new horror: Forevermore's own native Nevermorian-Knights — famed for their martial skill and power — clashed against the Void; and whilst their attacks seemingly would destroy portions of the mass or any entity created from it, they would soon after re-manifest elsewhere to terrorize and kill once again.

At the same time: Neo-Eden's orbital array would be commanded to unleash a focus strike on Void targets whilst both organic and automated Seraphnim forces engaged their arms in suppressive fire; though they too would experience a similar failure. Ultimately both battles would end in a victory for the Void of Antaroth, as both the Isariel and Seraphnim would be driven into retreat; thus leaving these respective systems to fall to the Void's darkened tide.
