"SH" as a digraph is used as in English, though the sound did not exist in the Gothic language. |

Consistent derivations from proper Arabic include transcribing |
Consistent derivations from proper Arabic include transcribing [g] with ghayn (غ), usage of alif (ا) as any sound from [a] to [e] and waw (و) as anything from [o] to [u] to [w], and the digraph "دج" to represent the English "j" sound [ʤ] (Arabic jeem ج makes a [ʒ] in the dialect this is based on). Fe (ف) is used to transcribe [v] even though this is uncommon in actual Arabic loanwords. |

This script was initially designed around names that already existed. Place names like Frauden contrasted with Pherran and Entroph, so "f" and "ph" were separated. The Xherari necessitated "xh" being pronounced [z], but Axilarys and Dexotrau required a separate sound for "x". Overall, it was a huge pain to put together and a teaching moment for how not to go about giving a species lingual aesthetics. |

Cosmoria's regions have various languages, of course, spoken by a great abundance of species with different ways to articulate sound. For simplicity's sake—and being able to actually write names down without advanced notation for those like the Un'oit and the Atlins—names are written in the Latin alphabet as approximations of what these species would sound like. Consider it Cosmoria's version of Tolkein "localizing" the names in Middle Earth.
In-universe, however, language still needs to be written and spoken. There are a few dominant writing systems within Cosmoria, typically separated by arm or satellite of the galaxy. These scripts represent the remnants of vast trade networks and imperialism throughout the contiguous regions, and it is a tradition for some of us to include these transcriptions in the infobox alongside the Latinized name.
Cosmoria's main three arms—Aylathiya, Zalanthium, and Florathel—each derive their scripts from real-world ones: The Gothic alphabet, Arabic, and Mongolian Bichig respectively.
Azurullya uses a set of scripts invented by SunlitSmoothie, made to represent the languages of the species native to it and the empire that now controls it.
Aylathiya
Aylathiya's script is a somewhat loosely used version of the Gothic Alphabet, representative of the in-universe language Boreal Basic. This script canonically originates from Thalsiedeln.
For the most part, names in this script remain similar or exactly the same as they are in the Latin alphabet. Notable divergences from the actual usage of the Gothic script is the preservation of "Weird German" vowel uses, the digraph "gh" for any instance of English or French "j", and the pronunciation of 𐍅 as v in some cases (V is usually transcribed with 𐌱). 𐍇 is used in place of 𐌺 in some places, usually in names transcribed with a "c" or "x", as they make the same [k] sound. The IPA [x] is transcribed with 𐍇𐌷. "SH" as a digraph is used as in English, though the sound did not exist in the Gothic language.
Aylathiya itself is transcribed as 𐌰𐌹𐌻𐌰𐌸𐌹𐌾𐌰.

Zalanthium
Zalanthium's script is a very loose usage of the real-world Arabic Script, representative of many Zalanthian languages but beginning as the native script for Indaric. The script canonically began usage on Indar and has spead to the rest of the regions in contact with the Greater Celestial Concord.
Indaric, called that because its usage is much too liberal to be properly called Arabic, typically falls short of truly capturing the names of the region. Besides names that line up nicely with Arabic phonotactics or were intentionally lifted from Arabic-speaking regions, the script struggles to capture vowel clusters, long consonant clusters, or central vowels. Regardless of this, the names sounded out tend to sound nice.
Zalanthium itself is transcribed as زلانثيوم

Azurullya
Azurullya has a total of four active writing systems, three of which are represented by fonts uploaded to the site, accessible through use of templates. Many of Azurullya's locations have multiple names, either holdovers from ancient astronomical culture between the Ski'pec and Xherari or from the official renaming of objects by the Theocracy of Silverstar.
The Scripts
Azurulleyan Hieroglyphic
Azurulleyan Laytongue is the primary imperial language of the galaxy, brought over and developed from proto-Aegan into the accommodating creole tongue it is today. It is written with Azurulleyan Hieroglyphic, a complex script made for striking iconography and efficient use on screens.
Outside of canon, Azurulleyan Hieroglyphic was made as a 1:1 cipher for normal English text, because it needed to look cool and do nothing else. Names that don't make sense in any of the native languages (particularly the Welsh ones in Axilarys and for Gwerddon) are likely to originate from this. All articles in Azurullya get this script as one of their Fancy Infobox Scripts. It's what unifies their otherwise disparate languages.
Slitarú
Slitarú is the native language of the Ski'pec, or at least the one that won out by the time they had blended together for their interstellar age. Its script and speaking remains dominant among them because of their unique manner of speech.
I wrote about this language here. The script isn't particularly easy to handwrite, but written mediums like ink on paper or wood are what it was developed for. The sounds it literally represents are difficult for human ears to distinguish, but the relative positions and manners of articulation can be roughly correlated to IPA consonants and vowels, so that has been done.
Notably, this is one of the few scripts where the phonology was thought up before the writing system was applied, and in an attempt to make it sound more alien the names are quite difficult to pronounce. If a name seems inconsistent with its pronunciation, that's likely because it's from one of the different dialects of Slitarú.
Eka-Xenadin
This language was the international standard for the Xherari before the Theocracy of Silverstar made their blitz through Azurullya. The script still persists, but is a little limited in some ways. The language itself has been morphed heavily through interaction with Azurulleyan Laytongue.
Rinhlenkhan
The script developed for the Ryleiths, who still exclusively speak languages that write with it. Developed with intent to carve its glyphs into stone, the appearance of it remains quite angular.
Rinhlenkhan has incredibly pervasive distinction of aspiration, something that should honestly be ignored when sounding out the names of the few objects named in it. It is an immense hassle both to write and speak.
