The simulation of Astralis is one of endless galactic realms wandering a boundless abyss, weaving cosmic structures that span billions of light-years. Countless luminous stars and lively worlds make up the galactic realms, leading to a reality whose breadth is indistinguishable from infinity. In spite of the simulation's relatively healthy stability, the aetheric matrix has began to 'overflow' into the fabric of reality, resulting in various visual anomalies.

Ever since the birth of Astralis, diverse civilizations have soared the vast universe, fearlessly exploring the void of space and conquering the endless stars. In time, the universe will decay as every star burns out, leaving it in an eternal state of darkness, only to be born yet again in an endless cycle. Any surviving civilizations in that era are left hopelessly stranded, as they cling to the last rogue planets and black holes in Astralis.

During the age of starlight, an ancient relic, one capable of corrupting the fabric of space-time, caused a catastrophic event visible across the entirety of the universe as a bright flash of light. The lonely spiral galaxy Empyrea was sundered, disappearing into a distant place far beyond the boundaries of the simulation, leaving behind a vibrant region of instability.

Aetheric Overflow

An unusual anomaly in Astralis has persisted across countless iterations: an 'overflow' of the aetheric matrix, the fundamental aspect of reality that governs the behavior of electromagnetic particles, into the other facets. Numerous unique phenomena have consequently arisen in the universe, most notably visual anomalies and natural 'currents' of light.

The countless nations that reside in Astralis have taken advantage of that abnormality, inventing near-instantaneous communication, unusual methods of superluminal travel, and more as a result.

Kachiro

Kachiro is a constellation of seven galaxies across the entirety of Astralis, interlinked by ancient gateways, home to an incredibly diverse society spanning a hundred thousand stars. Interstellar superpowers rule the galaxies as independent states lie in between, populated by dozens of races, all of whom share a singular ancestral species.
