I find it most curious, the effects of my first actions. What was originally something so tame, something so innocuous, flared with ceaseless activity at but a mere thought. A strange rift came into existence before I even had the chance to gaze upon this "Cosmoria". Feeling panicked, I tried to look everywhere for this foreboding object. It could not be found. I suppose I was bewildered. It, admittedly, took me a great deal of time to realize that it was a part of me.
I soon discovered my first thoughts created a gateway to Cosmoria. I could see the wondrous space of matter and energy. When the drumming of cosmic reactions and gleaming opalescent lights died down, I bore witness to a deviant, incongruous cosmos. From what I could measure however, it was a rather "stable" place. A place of spirals of stars and gas. Countless points of light danced about, and it was truly a sight to behold. Such structures were tame however, in comparison to the roots festering above and below. Much like these brilliant lights, it began ripping me apart, tearing apart the very concepts that comprised me. An entire plane, subsumed by this now terrifying rift. I had no choice but to close the gateway, ripping it off of me and sealing it in Cosmoria.
They started calling this part of me the Lux Aeterna many millennia later. It found the ability to project its energy across Cosmoria. I believe that was the birth of Thaumaturgy, or at least its potential. From there, only a handful of planes and concepts strayed too close to Cosmoria and end up consumed by this beast. While intervention was an option, I could not simply destroy this part of myself… I even fed it somewhat. Denizens of Cosmoria, the smallest beings, managed to understand and control the realm of light. Its exotic energies, never seen by them prior, permeated the universe. I am glad I did not destroy it… and I doubt I could now.
The Lux Aeterna lies in Cosmoria's core, a cyclone fueled by the violent clash between Sarkic and Ousic matter, the two fundamental substances of reality. It is reminiscent of the universe in its earliest days; the heat of creation caused all forces to act as one. In this environment, the distinction between substance and form disappears, creating the dreamlike environment found in the Lux Aeterna. Since so much energy is locked in the core of Cosmoria, it escapes once a chance presents itself. Allowing this energy to flow into the rest of Cosmoria is the practice of Classical Thaumaturgy.
The Lux Aeterna is visible in most of Cosmoria at night, giving rise to many religions. From the side, the view that most would have, bands of amaranth, pink, and orange clouds define its appearance. Slightly wider than it is tall, its appearance from above reveals a chaotic structure made up of numerous whirling cyclones, storms, and streams that constantly push against one another. With so much material in constant movement, colossal currents discharge enough energy to shame the dimmest stars. Over half of the energy of the universe lies in the Lux Aeterna. This Aeternal Energy seeks to escape into the rest of Cosmoria by any means necessary, fueling not only Thaumaturgy but the interact between Minds and brains.
Properties
The Lux Aeterna is equal parts Ousic and Sarkic. Ousic matter is the stuff of the Noosphere. Concepts, abstract thoughts, minds, and forms are Ousic matter. It is governed by Meta-potential. Sarkic matter is everything subject to the laws of quanta. Quarks, electrons, neutrinos, and energy-carrying bosons are all Sarkic matter. It is governed by the four fundamental forces: gravity, electromagnetism, the strong force, and the weak force. There is a sixth interaction that both realms abide by—the Thaumic Force.
The other forces of reality give way to the Thaumic Force in the Lux Aeterna. The Aeterna's interior is dreamlike in its behavior, not in that it is somehow impossible or fantastical, but in that it is functionally the same as a dream. The unconscious mind generates nonsensical but not incoherent experiences while sleeping. The experiences have rules in that certain objects behave in certain ways. This is not due to the laws of physics but the dreamer's conceptual model of the object. The Lux Aeterna is a realm in which conceptual models can interact governed by consensus.
Observers in the Lux Aeterna can alter its properties simply by changing how they think of something. Of course, this is unintuitive and can only be applied insofar as other observers agree. This property dictates the appearance of individuals and their physical properties. Movement is similar. Some imagine climbing stairs, swimming, flying, using a vehicle, or moving on a platform. The strength of one's pylon determines ease of movement, control over appearance, and effectiveness in combat.
Pylons

Cores
The Aeterna is a host to independent entities, called Cores, within its boundaries. Cores hold the appearance of large, white wisps of light which flicker and move quickly. It is thought that these Cores manifest from high-energy events, though this is not entirely proven. Most Cores are found floating aimlessly, typically around large coagulations of matter. It is thought that there are trillions of Cores in The Aeterna, appearing and disappearing over many years. Independent Cores are hazardous due to their high energy and sporadic movements.
Occasionally, Cores merge with one another, creating a conscience with multiple minds. If this happens often enough, a unified sapient core may appear in its place. Such Cores represent an island of stability, similar to a faux pylon, within the chaos of the Aeterna. Sapient Cores may combine with others as well, resulting in a collective conscience of two or more Cores. The largest of these have the equivalent of billions of minds in a single body.
Spirits
Main Article: Spirits
The Spirits are Thaumic entities born from the energies of the Lux Aeterna. Like a pearl building up over time, or a hailstone accumulating mass, spirits gradually grow until a critical mass. After reaching this mass, the core stops growing, birthing a new spirit. While other kinds of spirits exist, such as those that hail from the Noosphere, none have been so influential as the Aeternal Spirits. The legendary Angels, six beings of immense power, are the most well known Aeternal spirits. To this day they are worshipped throughout Cosmoria. The most powerful spirit is the High Warlock, an entity billions of years old that can effortlessly destroy stars.
The majority of spirits have no will. They aimlessly float throughout space and time, capable of immense feats but never once thinking to. These simplistic entities may have a handful of inane goals. Less common are the animal-like spirits. Capable of basic reasoning, their goals are often more complex. Some can even hold a conversation should they believe one to be beneficial. The most rare spirits are those intelligent enough to have no determined goal but the ability to determine what their goal should be. These spirits are the best at Thaumaturgy as they have accumulated far more mass before birth.
History
The first mind in history, Azurade, represented a fundamental change in the Noosphere. This realm contains all Ousic Matter, the stuff of minds, abstract concepts, and souls. Azurade's first thoughts, incoherent as they were
