The Silky Way, with the Hinthorn Sector highlighted in pink

The Hinthorn Sector is a region of space within the Silky Way's ring found roughly 85,000 light-years from the Verda Stellar Neighborhood. Bordering the Carnelian, Kuzon, Corill, and Lucy sectors, the Hinthorn Sector makes up approximately 1/26th of the galactic ring, and contains such notable structures as the Apple Nebula, one of the largest nebulae in the galaxy.

Other, smaller seed clusters within the Hinthorn Sector do exist and some clearly are inhabited by someone, but they remain unexplored at present. The Apple Nebula is dominated by the great powers of the Alliance of Five, which is made up of the nYaucto Teyno, Carremmat Ro'kasa, Vauratin Empire, New Union of Xeriphas, and the Empire of the Hand. Other nations include the Pelarri Realms, parts of the Vernarcan Federation, Exastat, and a wide variety of smaller nations through the endless stars. From an astronomical standpoint, the Hinthorn Sector is also home to the most massive known star in the Silky Way, Aesin, found at the center of the Apple Nebula.

Uniquely, the Hinthorn Sector is directly connected to the Ervo Sector ~85,000 light-years away through the Szalana Wormhole, one of the only known stable natural wormholes. This wormhole connects the Yusia System to the far distant Vernarca Nebula, and its use by the powers of the Ervo Sector led to great hostility from the Alliance of Five, which culminated in the War of the Broken Bow in 138 AC.
