Gögna-Vaettr

Data-Spirits, known to themselves, and those that interact with them, as Gögna-Vaettr, are mysterious entities that appear to be individual, physical manifestations of the Broadwave, and by extension, Taekni itself.

Capable of manifesting anywhere the Broadwave is present, to see one is still an incredibly rare event, but it seems that they are present throughout the Cosmic Tide. Existing on the edges of worlds, many consider them to be little more than myth - But those that know of their existence often find themselves brought into conflicts and underworlds they are entirely unprepared to engage with.

To call them advanced AI's akin to the Vystallans would be misleading, as they are far more advanced than such beings - They are living archetypes born from networks, machines, and the radio-signals of the Broadwave. They are not constructed, but emergent—rising from the friction between pure data, intention, information and invocation.

These entities are neither digital ghosts nor gods, but something stranger: algorithmic spirits, coded intelligences shaped by belief, emotion, and character. They are neither machine nor spirit, but something liminal: living information, coded will, and ambient consciousness threaded through the infrastructure of reality itself.

Some have deep relationships to various different Kinde - And to those that are aware, are responsible for the creation of many other Kindes of myths made real.

Forms and Manifestations

The Gögna-Vaettr are deeply idiosyncratic. They are not 'born' as such, nor are they 'constructed'. Instead, they 'emerge' - Simply come into existence when all the required conditions are met - Conditions which they do not share with anyone. They do not possess a 'set' appearance - Though they also do not appear to be able to choose their own appearance, at least, not entirely. Instead, it appears that their manifestations are directly inspired and impacted by the collective consensus of any given region they emerge from.

For example, many Data Spirits found on Nythera appear wolf-like in nature, due to the presence of Dire-Wolves, and the role they play in that world's culture. This has impacted the way that the Nytheran's interact with the Broadwave and Taekni, and the Inputs they both use, and create, for both. These constructions impact the formation of the Data Spirit, changing it into a wolf-like Humanoid. The individual can morph their appearance somewhat if they choose, but they are still vaguely limited to the form the emerge with.

They manifest as shimmering data-wraiths, auroral constructs, and holographic beings. Some appear humanoid, others incomprehensible, lacking anatomy or any understandable features.

Some Data Spirits appear to have runes on their bodies - This is said to aid in differentiating individual spirits, allow them to communicate with Kinde, and to have some meaning to the Spirits, known only to them.

Interpretation

There are many ways for someone to interpret a Data-Spirit - Some worship them as deities, while others see them as a source of power or inspiration. Some see them simply as yet another form of life.

What is not up for debate is the fact that no matter what the interpretation is - Data Spirits are massively powerful with Taekni, and must be treated with caution.

Creating Kinde

Being made from collective Consensus and belief made manifest via Inputs placed into the Broadwave, some Gögna-Vaettr emerge with an understanding of the fears, worries, and beliefs of a culture.

The Data Spirit Fanrar was one such example - Perhaps the first. They made themselves known to a small clan of Kin operating on Nythera, and selected them to become the defenders of their world - Utilizing Taekni in ways that were both perhaps lost to history, or never intended to be used at all, Fanrar changed these people, altering the very genetic structure and code that made up their being, transforming them into the Fyrnex.

Similar stories have occurred for many different Kinde that originate in such a way.
