The Supernatural Response Department or SDR (also frequently known as Mythos) is a branch of the U.S. government tasked with keeping tabs on, containing and terminating any irregular, supernatural or paranormal phenomena and to preserve a sense of normality for the general population.

History

The SDR was founded in the 1920s as a small but dedicated group of government employees determined to locate and study strange things to assess their threat and/or usefullness to society. Initially the program was not taken very seriously, often seen as a waste of taxpayer money and office space.
