Welcome to Amaranth Legacy

A poster of Glypht, Amaranth Legacy's mascot. It is in the style of the "I want YOU" Uncle Sam posters, with Glypht pointing a finger at the viewer. Multiple Scope icons are visible on Glypht's head.

What is Amaranth Legacy?

In short: Amaranth Legacy is a community of worldbuilders, writers, and storytellers, all brought together to share writings, artwork, and ideas. We have a decade-long history, with 132 users and 3,895 pages on this website.

What is the structure of Amaranth Legacy?

This community's structure relies heavily on a concept of Scopes — our term for separate, individual canons. Currently, we have 68 Scopes which are in the Amaranth Legacy community.

The owner of a scope has the final say on what is allowed in it. Most scopes are open to collaboration; however, you'll want to check the scope's respective page for information.

Generally, you'll find a hatnote like this on the top of a page to indicate which scope it is in:

This is what you will see at the top of pages!

How can I join?

To start editing, you need to make an account on this website. All you need is an email! This can be done by clicking on the profile icon, selecting the "log in" link, and filling out the input form.

First: Formatting articles is based on the markup language called wikitext, which is the same language that powers Wikipedia and Fandom. Another option is using VisualEditor, which is both simple and visual (it shows you what the article will look like as you are typing).

Second: Creating a page is as simple as searching the name of the page and clicking the link at the top.

Third: You are free to add as much or as little as you want. Don't be afraid to create small pages; we're not forcing you into a part-time job! We've had plenty of passing users who only wrote a couple of small articles, and that's something we encourage here. Try it out, and maybe read some other peoples' work while you visit.

If you are still confused or need help, please ask us for assistance!
