Solan Payne is a mutant Tomato Frog and a member of the Payne Family created by GenoSys Labs in Orca Point, Oregon

History

Solan was born as a normal Tomato Frog until he was bought by GenoSys, to be used as a lab-animal for their secret Super-soldier program, Project S.C.A.L.E.. He was exposed to Primordial Ooze which gave him a humanoid body, heightened intelligence and a blob-like physiology. GenoSys scientists then proceeded to perform many painful and cruel experiments on him to test his strength, durability and intelligence, as well as to simply understand his biology, Instilling a hatred of humans within him. When not being subject to experiments or efficiency tests, Solan was kept in an underground cell with several other mutants, both successes and failures, including Lance, Judith and Mystax. It was during this time when Alan Creck had snuck into the facilities upper levels, and had exposed the blatant animal cruelty that was being performed, the next day GenoSys began to 'clean up' all their work. This meant destroying any mutations they had created.

During the purge, Salvatore had managed to escape his containment and set out freeing the other mutants, including him, who proceeded to run for the exit, brutally dispatching any security enforcers or scientists who got in their way. Solan escaped into the city where he moved from living space to living space, avoiding GenoSys bounty hunters and other humans, often killing any he found alone.

Sensitivity to Chemicals - as a mutated frog, Solan has naturally sensitive skin that he can breath through, however it also leaves him quite vulnerable to chemicals and oils, which can be absorbed through his skin and cause him harm.
