ISLANDED IN A STREAM OF STARS, ACROSS ETERNAL SEAS OF SPACE AND TIME
This content is a part of the Silky Way.Community Page
This page is an open article designed for collaboration and expansion by anyone. The Silky Way contains hundreds of billions of stars, most of which have never been sighted or visited by civilization. This article details each notable star within the galaxy, divided by Sector and Seed Cluster.
Anhooie
Type - Main Sequence (F9V)
Native Species - None
A fairly unremarkable star, Anhooie was thrust into prominence when the Tarasze refugees thrown from the remote Devore Cluster crashlanded on the jungle world of Tarash. The Tarasze made it their adoptive homeworld and built the enormous Tyran Empire, which became famous across the Vernarca Nebula for both its impressive projects and horrific atrocities. Tarash and most of the remaining population of the Anhooie System following the evacuation by Project Egress were destroyed in the Athos Supernova in 41 AC, and the system largely faded from relevance. Anhooie holds the K-class main sequence star Gorzarg in a tight binary configuration.
Notable Moons - Mina (destroyed)
Companions - Gorzarg
Athos
Type - Neutron Star
Native Species - Saladi (critically endangered)
Athos was once a brilliant, highly evolved red supergiant home to a number of planets including Cela, the homeworld of the illustrious Saladi. Over the years, the depredations of the Tyran Empire ground down the Saladi to but a shadow of their former stature, culminating in the bombardment of Cela and the near extinction of their species in 133 BC. From this point, the Athos System faded from prominence beyond a useful energy source and the site of many habitats. Unfortunately, the Athos Supernova in 41 AC utterly destroyed the last of the ailing Empire including their adopted homeworld of Tarash and all its trillions of people. Today, Athos is nothing more than a neutronium cinder, spinning a few times a second and barely illuminating the fragments of its worlds.
Audras
Type - Main Sequence Star (K2V)
Native Species - None
Audras is the secondary star of the Verda System, and is outshined in both luminosity and fame by its larger companion. Despite this, Audras also has many worlds important in their own right, including Anamol, the first "interstellar" colony world of the Alorath, and the frigid world of Lahor.
Delias
Type - Blue Giant (B8III)
Native Species - Iron Thelsa
Once the center of a sprawling trade network, the Iron Thelsa homeworld of Koraco was rendered uninhabitable by a natural disaster emanating from its fickle parent star. Since, Delias has receded from historical prominence, and the Iron Thelsa exist across the Vernarca Nebula with no state to call their own.
Planets - Koraco, Telakuss, Vasitar, Hermas
Notable Moons - Alethur
Delnar
Type - Main Sequence Star (M4V)
Native Species - Verna
Delnar is the home system of the Verna species, the capital of the ancient Delnar Empire, and a major system within the Vernarcan Federation. An uncommon state of affairs, the Delnar System is home to just one binary planet, both members of which are less than a tenth of a standard planetary mass.
Delsar
Type - Main Sequence Star (F5V)
Native Species - Bronze Thelsa
A key system within the Thelsan Assembly, the Delsar System is also among the brighter stars in the Vernarca Nebula. The planet Aristaz is widely considered to be one of the most historically important places in the entire Assembly, and Sutvel is not far behind. The system took severe damage in the War of the Broken Bow, but Aristaz and Sutvel both survived and rebuilding is underway.
National Affiliations - Thelsan Assembly
Denatze
Type - Brown Dwarf (T4)
Native Species - Azani
In the absence of another star, Denatze's worlds would be iceballs, but the failed star lucked into orbiting just beyond the temperate zone of the much brighter Erosa. Thus, the acidic planet Azan got the chance to develop life in the form of the Azani species, which soon expanded into the stars and created several clans, known today as the Clans of Azan.
Companions - Erosa
Elachor A
Type - Main Sequence UV Ceti Variable (M5.5V)
Native Species - None
Elachor A is a classical example of a UV Ceti variable, exhibiting fairly benign flaring. Its two planets were the first worlds beyond the Verda System visited by the Alorath species, and the binary pair is the closest stars to that system.
Planets - Dalkor, Dorion
Companions - Elachor B
Elachor B
Type - Main Sequence UV Ceti Variable (M6V)
Native Species - None
While Elachor A's flares are benign, B's flares are astonishing, spiking in brightness over eighty times and becoming visible to the naked eye on the worlds of the Verda System. Its lone planet of Icalas is thus covered in lava and shrouded in a thick atmosphere of vaporized silicates.
Planets - Icalas
Companions - Elachor A
Elzir A
Type - Main Sequence (M5V)
Native Species - Moco
The primary star of the Elzir System, Elzir A is a generic red dwarf. Its single circumbinary planet of Athiri was once the homeworld of the ancient Moco species, but they can no longer be found here. Only microbial life survived the ravages of the Edrons, and the system lies far from the centers of civilization in the modern day.
Notable Moons - Alenkan, Isirar
Companions - Elzir B, Elzir C
Elzir B
Type - Main Sequence (M8V)
Native Species - Moco
The secondary star of the Elzir System is known simply as Elzir B. Due to its distance from Verri and low population, official names for the individual stars were never given.
Notable Moons - Alenkan, Isirar
Companions - Elzir A, Elzir C
Elzir C
Type - Brown Dwarf (L3)
Native Species - None
Elzir C is the ternary component of the Elzir System, and the only brown dwarf there. The system is extremely compact, with C orbiting A and B just once every 3.8 days, but the lone planet of Elboreth can be found far beyond the trio and holds a good fraction of the system's population.
Planets - Elboreth (circumternary)
Notable Moons - Alenkan, Isirar
Companions - Elzir A, Elzir B
Enolia
Type - Red Giant (K5III)
Native Species - None
The primary star and namesake of the Enolia System, Enolia is a red giant shining with over 100 times the brightness of stars like Verda or Starrial. It is clearly visible almost 1500 AU away in the daytime skies of Canamar, orbiting the system's secondary star. Originally utilized by the ancient Kethan-Enol civilization for its immense luminosity, the Tyran Empire, Enolian Coalition, and today the Vernarcan Federation all use this power and the infrastructure built up over the year.
Planets - Ankas, Cerlore
Notable Moons - Scar, Flammes
Companions - Kathi
Entek
Type - Main Sequence (K3V)
Native Species - None
The tertiary companion of the Talar System, Entek is a fairly unremarkable K-class red dwarf at a distance of 11,000 AU from the Talar/Talil binary pair. The colonization of its three planets were major achievements in the history of the Q'Mau species.
Planets - Jono, Bacco, Endar
National Affiliations - Talarian Union
Erim
Type - White Dwarf (DA4)
Native Species - None
The secondary member of the Kedr System, Erim is a white dwarf, the first identified as such by both the Vilir, Alorath, and Verna. Prior to its departure from the main sequence, it was likely the most massive member of the Kedr System, but it has long since lost much of its mass and all of its planets.
Erosa
Type - Main Sequence Star (K4V)
Native Species - Azani
Found at the heart of the fractious Clans of Azan, the Erosa System has long stood as a neutral zone between the constantly bickering clans. The arid planet Tarchannen was the site of the founding treaty of the theoretically-unified clans.
Companions - Denatze
National Affiliations - Clans of Azan
Gorzarg
Type - Main Sequence (K6V)
Native Species - None
Gorzarg is the smaller companion of Anhooie. The outer three worlds of the system, Tarash, Amarius, and Naranyx, all orbit the common barycenter of Gorzarg and Anhooie. Nothing directly orbits Gorzarg itself with the exception of a small vulcanoid belt which was disassembled to build stellar infrastructure. While the Athos Supernova ravaged the entire system, some have returned to the ruins and began to rebuild the megastructures.
Notable Moons - Mina (destroyed)
Companions - Anhooie
Holias
Type - Main Sequence Star (G0V)
Native Species - Lrenn
The home star of the Lrenn species and parent of Erdath, Holias plays host to a very major syste to the Vernarcan Federation. Holias can be found near the edge of the Vernarca Nebula, close to the border of the Krask Hegemony, and this position made it the closest major system to the chaos of Falacian space and a stratigic position to protect during the Falacian Cold War.
Companions - Hiril
Ilise
Type - Main Sequence (M4.5eV)
Native Species - None
Ilise is the tertiary companion of the Kedr System and a mid-range M-class red dwarf flare star. While it is not of particular note due to its physical characteristics, its two harsh planets were host to the first Vilir colonies beyond Kedr's own worlds, established soon after the Vuan Assembly joined the Federation.
Planets - Neserjar, Mirai
Kalpen
Type - Main Sequence Star (
Native Species - Ancient Builders (extinct)
By far the oldest star within the Vernarca Nebula, Kalpen is the home of the enigmatic Ancient Builders, a race which once ruled the nebula and created all manner of great things. Today, their world of Nalaren is all but dead, and the system is a fairly minor holding of the Vernarcan Federation.
Kathi
Type - Main Sequence Star (K8V)
Native Species - Enolians (critically endangered)
Kathi is the secondary star of the Enolia System, and home to the planet Canamar, which is the capital of the Enolian Coalition. The planet and its system have a long history, beginning with the ancient Kethan-Enol civilization and its dominance over the local space. In the second century BC, the advancing Tyran Empire conquered Kethan-Enol, subjugating its people and culminating in Shahso's genocide of the Enolian species in 34 BC. Shortly afterwards in 6 BC, the surviving Tarasze and Ilvin inhabitants of the system rose up in rebellion during the Tyran War, and later joined the Vernarcan Federation in 89 AC.
Notable Moons - Ellora
Kedr
Type - Main Sequence (K0.5V)
Native Species - Vilir
Kedr is a high-end K-type orange dwarf of around 80% the mass of Verda with three planets. Of particular note is the moon of Vua, home to the formerly system-bound Vilir species which rapidly spread beyond its bounds following the Vuan Assembly's accession to the Vernarcan Federation.
Planets - Mima, Saidan, Naria
Notable Moons - Vua, Shelis, Talanvor, Hurin, Thango, Iniora
Kelpur
Type - Main Sequence Star (M0V)
Native Species - Krask
Kelpur is the primary star of the Kelpur-Meranath System, the home system of the Krask species. Tekarani was the capital of the Krask Confederation before its orbital bombardment in 326 BC, but today the sytsem is largely populated by the various Falaci species as the Krask can now mostly be found near Narsekil. The system is now a key system of the United Planets, following their secession from the Dominion in 79.
Planets - Jyara, Araustis, Tekarani
Notable Moons - Nivalek, Siurto, Rerokan
Companions - Meranath
National Affiliations - United Planets
Kerillis
Type - Main Sequence Star (O4V)
Native Species - None
Kerillis numbers among the most massive stars in the Vernarca Nebula at over 55 stellar masses and nearing the end of the main sequence. It can be found within the territory of Marakat, constantly fought over by the various factions and rebel groups within its territory.
National Affiliations - Marakat (ostensibly)
Kiviri
Type - Brown Dwarf (T1)
Native Species - None
Kiviri is the secondary companion of Senerea, orbiting some 9,000 AU away from its primary. It likely formed independently, as its planets show completely different compositions and much more advanced ages than those of Senerea.
Planets - Aliv, Epyt, Idalik, Srani
Notable Moons - Tenavik
Companions - Senerea
National Affiliations - Etuernia
Klein
Type - T-Tauri Star (M9V)
Native Species - None
Among the smallest stars in the Vernarcan Federation, Klein is a newborn star found near the Verda System. Its innermost world of Byfa was among the first true interstellar colonies of the Alorath, as well as the site of unofficial first contact with the Kesstra and first pleasant contact with the Verna after the V'Straki Incident. Later in history, Klein was the edge of occupied Federation territory at the height of the War of the Broken Bow, and the First Citizens' Fleet amassed here before the Terminus Invasion in 143.
Lekna
Type - Main Sequence Star (M3.5V)
Native Species - Eanai
One of the oldest stars within the Vernarca Nebula, Lekna is a middling red dwarf near the border of the Vernarcan Federation and the Falacian Dominion. While physically unremarkable, its planet of Earen holds great historical importants across multiple eras of history. The system was completely sterile until the Ancient Builders seeded Earen with an engineered ecosystem as one of their greatest works, which eventually produced the Eanai species. The Falacian Dominion's Occupation of Earen resulted in great trauma to the inhabitants of the system, but their successful declaration of independence also broke the Yazera Pact, resulting in the Dominion's separation from that alliance.
Lyric
Type - Main Sequence Star (G3V)
Native Species - None
The secondary companion star of the Telia System, Lyric is equally if not more shrouded in mystery. Beyond the Kaegan Sovereignty, all that can be known about it is what can be divined from telescopes or the spy nets. The moon of Shilak is the home of the Kaegan species, and is seen by them as the center of the universe.
Planets - Thenakat, Talajkan, Nekrit, Avador
Notable Moons - Shilak, Sakaal
Companions - Telia
National Affiliations - Kaegan Sovereignty
Meranath
Type - Main Sequence Star (M6V)
Native Species - None
The secondary star of the Kelpur-Meranath System, Meranath is a dim ember of a star, barely lighting its three planets enough to raise them above the cosmic background temperature. Irastun was the site of the first Krask interstellar colony, but very few of that species lives there now.
Planets - Irastun, Ramiladon, Hyrot
Companions - Kelpur
National Affiliations - United Planets
Narsekil
Type - Bright Giant (M5II)
Native Species - None
A supermassive star, Narsekil is the adopted home system of the Krask species following their diaspora from Tekarani. The moon of Vadren was chosen as the capital of the new Krask Hegemony during its secession from the Falacian Dominion, and plans are underway to possibly terraform the planet.
Notable Moons - Vadren
National Affiliations - Krask Hegemony
Pharumas
Type - Main Sequence Star (K5V)
Native Species - Gilded Thelsa
The primary star of the Pharumas System, Pharumas is home to the Gilded Thelsa species and was once the seat of the Thelsan Assembly. Following the destruction of Kyx in the final act of the War of the Broken Bow, the new government has reestablished at Elaris in the nearby Phalensh System, but Pharumas remains a historically important site within the Assembly.
Companions - Phelekai
National Affiliations - Thelsan Assembly
Phelekai
Type - Brown Dwarf (M9V)
Native Species - None
Phelekai is the smaller companion of Pharumas, orbiting beneath the orbit of Loxor and likely assisting in its ejection onto its bizarre elliptical path. On its own, it is functionally irrelevant, with its sole planet of Malvok having a meager population of 15,000 people in the mining colony.
Planets - Malvok
Companions - Pharumas
National Affiliations - Thelsan Assembly
Quantis
Type - Main Sequence (K2V)
One of the most important stars in the Vernarcan Federation, Quantis is a small star with seven planetary companions, two of which are naturally habitable. The system is a major hub for economic activity in the Federation, and there is a strong shipbuilding industry centered around the outer gas giants. Both of the aforementioned habitable planets are home to two different civilisations which peacefully share the system, though this has not always been the case.
Seltiso
Type - Main Sequence Star (M5V)
Native Species - Seyerin (Hikrai Falaci)
Once a largely historically irrelevant system, Seltiso rose to prominence in 119 AC when the Imperial Falacian State was established by the Cult of Ragor at Hikrai. Prior to this, its status as the home of the Hikrai Falaci granted it little prominence in the affairs of the Falacian Dominion, but now it exists as the center of an empire.
Planets - Lathtos, Selyua, Hikrai, Chagalin, Gerisem, Nolbei
Notable Moons - Thilar, Ebmon, Itachur
National Affiliations - Imperial Falacian State
Senerea
Type - Main Sequence (K0V)
Native Species - Ra'al
Senerea is a high-end orange dwarf star found near the edge of the Vernarca Nebula, sandwiched between the territories of the Vernarcan Federation and the Kaegan Sovereignty. Until relatively recently, the system was ruled by the totalitarian state of Etuernia, which also controlled a few of the surrounding stars, but the regime's slow collapse has resulted in the gradual opening up of the system.
Companions - Kiviri
National Affiliations - Etuernia
Serenn
Type - Main Sequence Star (M0Ve)
Serenn is a large red dwarf, host to two planets in the vicinity of the temperate zone. Unlike most systems, both of its planets were the homeworlds of sapient species, although neither one can be found here any longer. The Zemim were so thoroughly cleansed from the system that it took centuries for the Kuna'uashi colony at Ukardra to even find their existence, but the Edrons left behind so much evidence in their self-destruction that the Verna colony established on Suri barely had to make buildings.
Notable Moons - Nikell
Starrial
Type - Main Sequence (F3.3V)
Native Species - Kuna'uashi
Starrial is the home star of the Kuna'uashi species and parent of Campura, one of the founding member worlds of the Vernarcan Federation. As such, the system holds great importance in the history of the Vernarca Nebula. At 1.9 billion years old, Starrial is approaching the end of its life, and great efforts are being made to ensure that it does not enter the red giant phase of its lifespan and destroy the inner system. The War of the Broken Bow caused severe infrastructural damage to the system and killed much of the population, but rebuilding is underway.
Notable Moons - TBA
Talar
Type - Main Sequence (A8V)
Native Species - Q'Mau
The primary star of the Talar System, Talar exists at the center of the Talarian Union, to which it gives its name. The moon of Mev'Dar is the capital of the Union and the homeworld of the Q'Mau species, a longtime ally of the Vernarcan Federation. The star is accompanied by the closely orbiting red dwarf Talil, as well as the distant K-class star of Oacek.
Notable Moons - Mev'Dar, Merrar
Companions - Talil, Oacek
National Affiliations - Talarian Union
Talil
Type - Main Sequence (M8V)
Native Species - Q'Mau
The smallest star in the Talar System, Talil orbits very close to its primary companion. Its luminosity pales in comparison, providing little but an annoying obstacle to infrastructure construction.
Notable Moons - Mev'Dar, Merrar
Companions - Talar, Oacek
National Affiliations - Talarian Union
Taozora
Type - Brown Dwarf (L8)
Native Species - None
The third star in the Verda System, Taozora is barely visible in the skies of even Verda and Audras. Were it not within spitting distance of Teralla, it would go unremarked as one of hundreds of brown dwarfs within the Vernarca Nebula. The marginally habitable world of Vurana plays host to a number of refugee colonies, including of the Falaci fleeing from the chaos in their homelands.
Telia
Type - Main Sequence Star (A8V)
Native Species - Kaegans
A mysterious star system shrouded in political mystery, Telia can be found at the center of the deeply xenophobic Kaegan Sovereignty. Its six planets are almost exclusively populated by the Kaegan species, and very few others have found their way here.
Planets - Rana, Irlak, Hrathan, Rishon, Tasyna, Fidrak
Companions - Lyric
National Affiliations - Kaegan Sovereignty
Ters
Type - Main Sequence (F6V)
Native Species - Qat'hertha
One of the few stars in the Algor Cluster not claimed by the Obilehem Intelligence, Ters is home to the Qat'hertha species. This species could be considered endangered, as their homeworld of Siron slowly dies to the increasing heat of its star, but the expanding colonies on Khoasin ensure that the species will live on.
Notable Moons - Kasloa, Sirettei
National Affiliations - Comunities of Siron and Khoasin
Tirea
Type - Main Sequence Star (M3.5V)
Native Species - Pahvo (Neeia Falaci)
Tirea is physically a fairly standard red dwarf star in the midst of the Vernarca Nebula. One of the earliest conquests of the Falacian Dominion, its planet of Neeia plays host to the Neeia Falaci, formerly known as the Pahvo in the days before the Dominion. In 122 AC, after Emperor Kel exiled the Imperial Guard, they fled to the moon of Taiee, establishing the Falacian High Rule in the name of their figurehead Emperor Kahmar.
Notable Moons - Aliza, Taiee
National Affiliations - Falacian High Rule
Verda
Type - Main Sequence Star (G8V)
The primary star of the Verda System, Verda is located in the heart of the Vernarcan Federation and plays host to the interstellarly famous world of Teralla. Its many planets and habitats together host a population much greater than most star systems. Uniquely, Verda's systems have given birth to three sapient species: The Alorath, Kesstra, and Silik, although the latter have been extinct for almost a million years. Verda has been breached in war only once, in the existential War of the Broken Bow, and remains one of the highest quality of life areas in the known universe.
Vothan
Type - Main Sequence Star (K7V)
Native Species - Darossa Falaci
Once an obscure system under the control of a miniscule house, the Vothan System became the center of the Falacian Dominion and has remained so ever since its reconquest in 436 BC. In this position, it has sat in the center of innumerable succession crises and civil wars over the fate of the Dominion, with the halls of Darossa teeming with scheming warriors boasting of honor for eons.
Planets - Talit, Samoria, Engkaran
National Affiliations - Falacian Dominion
Yazera
Type - Main Sequence (M4V)
Native Species - None
Physically, Yazera is an unremarkable red dwarf of the kind making up over 70% of the universe's star population. With only three planets and no major moons to speak of, Yazera is among the more desolate systems of the Vernarca Nebula. However, it was the site of the Yazera Pact's creation at the Sonagar Anchorage and subsequent meetings of the leaders of the allied nations for several decades afterwards.
Planets - Ekre, Saras, Alerak
Absen
Type - not certain yet

TBA
Planets - None
Companions - Tavrin, Hele
National Affiliations - Aesin Neutral Zone
Brilliance
Type - Luminous Blue Variable
Native Species - None
At a monumental 167 solar masses and 350 solar radii, Brilliance is one of the largest stars within the Apple Nebula's Gemstone Cluster. Its luminosity of over three million standard luminosities makes it extremely valuable to the civilizations of the Apple Nebula, and until recently sat on the edge of the Aesin Neutral Zone. During the War of the Broken Bow, its enormous infrastructure complexes were successfully captured by the Vernarcan Federation, and its vast power was used to great effect against the fleets of Voidspears which assaulted the nebula as a whole from 147-150.
Planets - None
Companions - Myx
National Affiliations - Vernarcan Federation
Eson
Type - Main Sequence Star (O7V)
Native Species - None
A classic example of a massive star in the Gemstone Cluster, Eson can be found less than a light-year away from the much more impressive Brilliance. It currently sits on the main sequence, and will soon evolve into a Blue Supergiant, before becoming either a red supergiant or a wolf-rayet star like Aesin.

Suyralo
Type - Main Sequence Star (K6V)
Native Species - Griyosht
Suyralo is the home of the Griyosht species, hailing from Vyli. Originally a fairly unremarkable system, the planet Vyli and its system were catapulted to fame due to the natural abilities of its denizens and their role in the overthrow of the Lowiras Overlords in 194 BC. Today, the Griyosht are nearly extinct after the depredations of the Rautha Dynasty.

Demos
Type - Supermassive Black Hole
Native Species - Qomarat
Demos is by far the most massive object in the Silky Way, being the supermassive black hole which the galaxy formed around billions of years ago. Existing as far as it does from any extant civilizations, the only survey of the object in living memory was when the FSS Kareland stumbled upon it in 140 AC on its voyage home, after the discovery of the derelict Flashpoint Network. Here, they found the ancient world of Qomar, centerpiece of the Qomarat Empire and home of the last of the Qomarat species, frozen in cryostasis for over a billion years.
Planets - Qomar, presumably many others

Rigel
Type - Red Supergiant
Native Species - Arians
Rigel is a large red star that formed in the highly dangerous region of a quasar energy beam. Due to it's formation sight not being within a solar system nor galaxy it wanders intergalactic space eternally, with no orbital parent.
The star system which surrounds Rigel houses multiple planets with one habitable world, Solara, which in turn is home to the Arian species. Whilst the star is cause for life on Solara its high luminosity and radiation can sometimes harm this life in turn.
Planets - Alvescia, Rastery, Solara, Rastyscina, Ophelia, Vhept
